Seller Description
After 21 years of ownership it is with great reluctance I have to find a new home for my Suzuki Intruder VS600.As you can tell from the mileage and the photos, I have probably spent as much time polishing her as riding her over the years but when we have been out on the road we have had amazing adventures together, including touring France and Ireland twice. You will have a struggle to find a VS Intruder in such original and un-modified condition. She has never, ever let me down, only ever failed an MOT once many years ago (loose wire on the headlamp - stupid woman! I should have checked before I rode it there), It currently has 11 months MOT on it. If it has ever needed anything she got it. The battery is fairly recent, it had a new original equipment (imported from Japan) colour matched front mudguard a few years ago (the old one wasn't damaged but had started to rust) It has recently had the clutch cylinder seals replaced. A couple of years ago we repolished the front forks and if I were keeping the bike, in honesty, the brake and clutch cyclinders would benefit from a proper polish. These parts are aluminium which has been previously lacquered and so it just needs a little time and elbow grease to bring them back as we did the forks. The colour appears to be jet black in dull light but as soon as the sun shines you will see it is a pearlescent colour with purple and green micro prisms making the paintwork sparkle and pop. There is a thick envelope full of paperwork that documents the history of my ownership. It has the original toolkit and manual. This bike was orignially registered as a demonstrator by Fretton's of Leamington Spa. A common thing for a dealer to do to achieve their sales figures in a slow month! The owner before me was a lady in Leamington Spa who bought it with her divorce settlement but only kept it 3 years. The rest of it's life has been spent with me.So many of these lovely bikes have been customised in some way, often quite badly and so to find an unmolested model at a point in a bikes life when they become an appreciating classic is a major plus. There are currently only 35 of this model registered in the UK.I will openly admit that the most recent photo is the first one. taken last summer.
It is a very wet day today so I have not got her out the garage to take pictures as I like to keep her dry if I can :) I will get some more photos as soon as the weather and time allow. These are really great bikes, easy to ride, simple to work on, low seat height and parts are readily available. The VS models (with the exception of the 1400) are almost all pretty much identical apart from the capacity. Different sized engines were exported to different countries but the performance is very similar across the range. The 600 was only produced for 4 years but the parts are mostly the same as the 800 and various other engine sizes that were exported to other countries. There are also a wealth of after market items available for this model.I have fitted a screen, engine roll bars, a tool roll and a small cover for the regulator (simply for cosmetic reasons) The only other modification I did was to remove a gold plastic Suzuki badge off the back of the sissy bar and replace it with simple chrome GB letters. I probably have the badge in the garage when I check, if not they are easily available if you should wish to replace itOf course you will want to come and see the bike for yourself anyway so the pictures will just give you an outline of how much this bike has been loved in its life and, if the next owner gets half as much pleasure out of owning it as I have then they will be very happy indeed. How much is a beauty like this worth? When will you find another in this condition? Let's discuss the price because there is a deal to be had for someone.More details required? just get in touch
