Seller Description
For sale: 1995 Ford Econoline 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel - 218,405 Miles.
Please read the entire description.
This vehicle was built by Ford as an incomplete Econoline van body, then shipped to Georgia to become a completed shuttle bus by MetroTrans. I’ve owned this van for roughly 5 years and it has been a fantastic vehicle which has proven to be very reliable. The clean title is in my possession and is ready to transfer to the new owner. Life changes have occurred and it is time for a new proud owner to drive her home.
Recent work done/Modifications:- LED projector headlights- Firestone Transforce tires (all with less than ~10,000 miles, 2.5 years old)- Both Batteries (less than 2 years old)- Sliding leather seats- 5% privacy tint on all windows except windshield (and two small sliding windows on back driver side)- EDGE CTS2 Tuner - plugs into OBD2 port (fuel economy now roughly 21 mpg on level ground @ 65 mph, not towing)- 4” straight pipe exhaust with fiberglass pack- 4” straight intake pipe- Storage racks in interior- Locking storage box fabricated from 1/8” tread plate, bolted to metal wheel well from the inside of box.
The following work has less than 1,000 miles on it:- Rebuilt Ford Motorcraft injectors (Alternative Fuel Injection/Iron Medic Boise, ID)- New glow plugs- Glow plug wiring harness- Glow plug relay- Camshaft position sensor- Battery Terminals (repaired and heat shrunk)- Coolant line repair- Leak test- Code test- Air filter- Oil pressure switch- Fuel Filter- Engine flush- Fuel system clean- Oil change- Fuel system/fuel tank sock filters (motorcraft OEM)
In hand: receipts for work completed and the title to this vehicle.
This vehicle is being sold “as-is” and has no warranties of any kind. This vehicle turns on, runs and drives as it should. It will suit your needs whether they be a work van, travel van, camper van, toy hauler or anything you’d like to transport that will fit (my friend is 6’4” tall and he can stand up easily inside)! The interior and exterior fiberglass parts are somewhat rough in some areas but it is sealed up and does not leak in the rain. There is a patched area in the top rear on the fiberglass (above rear window) that I made a repair to from the previous owner. The repair is a sealed sheet of aluminum which was drilled into the fiberglass. The wood floor is the original floor with patches of OSB as a repair, but it is still strong. Small stains on the floor due to gear oil leaking out of an axle I was moving (also has a slight smell of gear oil - suggestion is to put fresh coat of paint on floor). The majority of the Metro Trans body is made of 1” x 1” x 1/16” steel square tubing frame work and has an aluminum exterior covering the steel frame.
There are 2 emergency exit windows. There is a steel vertical bike rack welded to the van's frame, very sturdy and can hold other things if you can mount them. Also has a 2” trailer hitch under the rear bumper. Both large door/hatches work and have a flat-bar lock mechanism.
The side folding doors work both electronically (push button above driver) or you can pull a handle for manual override. The interior lights need a fuse and do not illuminate when the button is pressed (not positive on reason, but they used to work). There are no significant leaks. There is one 34 gallon diesel fuel tank behind the rear axle (perfect for 4x4 conversions - no fuel tank modifications needed).
This vehicle steers well, brakes well, AC and heat work, blower motor works on all 4 levels, e-brake functions properly, horn works, lights work, turn signals work, doors open and close properly, windows roll up and down properly, engine block heater works (plug in fixed in front grille - recommend use in temperatures under 32 degrees F) and it accelerates properly. When the temperature is colder out, I usually "cycle" my key/glow plugs multiple times to ensure an easier start up and always recommend the block heater being used (7.3s are known for having trouble starting in cold). I could easily drive this vehicle cross country today as this thing has never let me down.
Thank you for looking and please only contact me if you are a serious potential buyer with funds readily available. I am not interested in any trades of any type. No help is needed with selling this vehicle. If you have questions please send me a message and I'll answer as soon as possible!
