After many years of adventures and road-trips, It is time to sell the most fun Mustang you'll ever come across. I own a repair and hotrod/custom car business in Loomis California. I bought this Mustang early 2015 and decided to do something very special and unique to it- Turn it into an open-desert race machine! This Prerunner Mustang is capable of being not only a daily driver but also a weekend warrior out on the trails, desert and sand.
Engine/Transmission: The 3.8V6 runs flawlessly, doesn't smoke, tick or leak. No check engine light. The engine is 100% stock. Being that it was my daily driver and road-trip car, it has been maintained very well. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts perfectly. A new clutch was installed about 3,000 miles ago and operates smooth with no chatter. The exhaust is custom and exits a few feet after the cat. converters. Has a great sound without being obnoxiously loud, but trust me- people WILL hear it roaring along the trails!
Suspension: The rear axle was changed out to a Ford 8.8 with 3:23 gears that came from a 2002 Mustang GT. The differential is welded, so it acts like a "spool". The car's lift was achieved by using longer springs with a stock-like spring rate on all four corners, subframe spacers, 5' long trailing arms to the rear axle linked to a fully welded custom subrame under the car, custom struts and QA1 coilover sleeves/overload springs in front.

Paint/body/Upholstery: The car started life in white but was professionally repainted in a color I chose when I wanted to make a statement offroad. The metallic blue is a great color and shines very well. It has minor scratches (mainly under the bumpers) but overall, the car has a great body with absolutely NO RUST. The upholstery shows age but is plenty nice enough to leave alone. The carpet is dirty and the driver's seat has some wear but the rest of the upholstery (including the headliner and dash) is in amazing shape!
The car has been parked inside my business for about 1 year, I don't use it much any more since I replaced this Mustang with an even bigger 1984 300ZX turbo prerunner. When I parked it, the AC worked but now its empty. The speedometer quit working recently and the blinker fuse blows sometimes. With that being said, its still a comfortable car to drive on the freeway and would make a great commuter car that can just about go anywhere! You have a chance to own a truly one-of-a-kind machine for a very low cost!
Misc Details: The car has another 18 gallon fuel tank in the trunk (flip a switch and it refills the car's stock tank). The Mustang also has a tow-hitch which I have used to tow cars many times. Empty- the Mustang gets 25MPG, towing a small car- it gets about 20MPG. One of the best things about the car is the horn- Hit the horn button and you'll hear the "Dukes of Hazzard" airhorns blasting Dixie!
As of right now, the car is 100% turn key and enjoy. it doesn't overheat, it'll cruise at 75MPH all day, the power steering and brakes work well. Windows/mirrors operate as they should. The car has a clean, California title in my name. also, this would be a great "ready to race car for the Gambler 500!"
