2001 BMW 5-Series 540I with M Package, Dinan Package was added. Strong power and a great driving feel.

I have had for about 7 years and although I have only driven it about 55,000 miles, I always have a smile on my face when driving it. I am losing my garage space and have to cut back to 3 cars from about 8. Unfortunately, it means selling this one and my 1976 model 2002 that I have had for 20 years. Good news is that I am keeping my very rare and very fun 1987 535IS, the only one that this one is second to. All of my BMW's are old enough to still have a soul as someone told me the other day.
In terms of issues, I am replacing the windshield this Wednesday Jan 5, 2022 due to a 6 inch crack. There is a small dent and scratch above the driver side door and top trim due to a basketball rim falling on it during a significant wind storm a couple of years ago. Service engine light shows due to electronic thermostat issue that does not impact cooling so mechanic does not recommend changing yet. One of the low headlights has a bulb out. License place light is not working, has a slight bit of rust near the light which may be impacting it.
Other than the above which are minor, it runs and sounds very strong. In 2018 the engine was replaced with a 78k mileage engine because the Dinan cool air intake places at the front of the engine near the ground allowed cold water to get inside the engine thus cracking the block, not the greatest design in my opinion, needless to say, that particular Dinan option has been permanently removed. At the time the engine was replaced, the clutch, water pump, belts, etc. were replaced with new parts due to it being an optimal time to due to so since engine was removed.
