2001 Electra Glide Police Edition51000 miles on odometer but 0 miles on rebuild.
Ok. The bike was assigned to the Daytona Beach Police DEPT and the was sold at auction to a Vietnam Veteran who had been afflicted with agent orange. As a friend of the family and also a Vietnam Vet I bought the bike from the estate and had it shipped here.
Upon initial inspection the bike was all there and complete but being left out uncovered in Daytona Beach for a couple of months the bike was a coat of rust and corrosion of the aluminum.
So I did a compression test, changed oil and gas. Checked plugs and charged battery It started right up. Ok good
No noise no smoke no leaks shifts and drives. Good.
Now the fun part started. I took it down to the frame and restored it completely as it would have been as a police unit
New top end...
New cam timing chains and shoes...Bottom end tight
New primary adjuster and clutch cover. (Clutch plates like new). Btw. The police department had a good maintenance department. Oil and fluids were clean and maintained well)
Trans shifts great. Gears like new.
Flushed and changed trans fluid with full synthetic Harley oil
Rebuilt fuel injection....
Replaced all O rings in injection and rebuilt pressure fuel lines w springs and OEMO rings
All replaced parts are genuine Harley Davidson.
Drive belt was like new. Did not need replacement....,
Rebuilt brake calipers front and rear..

Cleaned and reconditioned wheels.....
New idle and accelerator cables..
New JVC marine radio and 4 speakers in fairing....
All gauges cleaned and refurbished
New paint
New chrome
New aluminum covers
Lots of little stuff
New wiring in some circuits because of police harness and misc unneeded wiring
