Seller Description

Selling my Ford Excursion, this Truck/SUV is a beast. The largest, strongest SUV ever built.
This is a 2002 Ford Excursion Limited 4x4 model, white with gold trim.
I purchased this Excursion with the intent of towing my Airstream trailer; however, my trailer project is taking significantly longer than desired, therefore I have not used this for towing with one exception of towing my Airstream to the shop for some repairs. This vehicle is the ultimate tow vehicle for people with a family. I have owned a GMC / Chevrolet Suburban with the 8.1 Liter (I sold as it was 2-wheel drive and I was looking for a 4wd truck), and this is a much more heavy duty truck, which is safer for towing (specifically when loaded down with your family).
Options:
Limited Trim
4x4 (converted to manual WARN Hubs, which are significantly more durable and reliable than the factory hubs. This change was a proactive change on my part to improve reliability and was not due to a needed replacement). I have used the 4wd 3 times since I have owned the truck and it performs flawlessly. 2 times I used the 4wd high, while encountering snowy conditions in Georgia. 1 time I took the truck camping to the mountains of North Carolina and used 4 low....but probably would have been fine in 4 high.
Leather Seating
Heated Driver and Passenger Seating
Heated Mirrors
Automatic Mirrors
Power 6 way drivers seat
Removable Three Row Seating, seating for 8
Full Sized Internally Mounted Spare Tire
Front and Rear Heat and AC (Only the front works, but it works well, I have never needed the rear to work, even with a family of 5...in Georgia summers)
Rear Backup Assist Sensors
Tow Package (10,000lbs tow rating by Ford). Many people tow more than this, but I am a stickler for following safety standards. The airstream I towed (the one time mentioned above) weighs 5,500lbs. The person that I bought the truck from (also had three kids) towed his boat, which weighed 5,700 lbs (full gross tow weighting including trailer and gear).

Allow Wheels
Fog Lights
Rear rubberized cargo mat
cd | cassette | am/fm radio player
Rear Window Wiper
Unique 25%/25% rear barn doors 50% hatch
Power Windows, including power rear windows (the windows in the far back of the truck open sideways to vent.
Exterior: (8.5 out of 10)
The truck presents very well. This is a truck, and there are minor imperfections that I have tried to highlight within the images below.
There is a small segment of rust on the passengers side front fender (please see picture).
There is a small dent under the drivers side rear tail light.
The drivers side rear tail light has a small hole and crack in it (light works fine).
There is a small rock chip in the front windshield.
The undercarriage is clean, the truck has been in North Carolina (Charlotte) and Georgia (Atlanta Area).
The rear window, specifically under the rear window, there is a piece of black plastic that covers the rear window wiper motor, and the clear coat is peeling away (This happens on all Excursions).
Interior: (7.5 out of 10)
The seating is leather.
drivers side (rear seat back, and exterior bolster the leather is seperating)
passengers side (noticeable wearing on the exterior bolster)
Rear seats (standard wear, no noticeable issues) On the back of the rear seats there is velcro that is used to hold up the rear foot well cover, the velcro is pulling away from the rear of the seat.
Removable 3rd row (standard wear, no noticeable issues)
Carpeting, standard wear, some staining, but nothing horrible. There are no holes in the carpeting.
Driver and Passenger foot wells have rubber floormats.
The rear cargo area has no noticeable staining or wear.
This truck does offer a fully flat cargo area when the removable third row is out.
-4x8 plywood sheet lays flat.
-This truck comfortably sleeps 2 grown adults (I am 6'5), so if you are a dirtbagger, or looking for a stealth camper, this truck works well, and can be used during the work week to cart your family around.
The "Bad."
Only one key, no key fob.
The power door locks do not work.
The interior lights do not come on when you open up the doors (they do work though).
The Good.
I have placed a significant investment in this truck to ensure that it is road worthy and dependable. Below are the following items that I have completed within the past 1.5 years of ownership.
1. All new brakes, 2 Calipers, 4 Rotors and 4 Pads, on all four corners (less than 5,000 miles ago)
2. All new shocks, heavy duty shocks, towing specific shocks (less than 5,000 miles ago)
3. Brand New Front Sway Bars (Rather than replacing the bushings, I just replaced them both with new parts (less than 1,000 miles ago)
4. Injectors, I had 1 injector go out, so I replaced all 10 injectors, with 10 new Motorcraft Spark Plugs (less than 1,000 miles ago)
5. Passengers side Upper and Lower Ball Joints Replaced (less than 10,000 miles ago)
6. New fan belt (less than 10,000 miles ago)
7. New PVC Valve and hose(s) (less than 3,000 miles ago)
8. New Idle Regulator Valve (less than 3,000 miles ago)
9. New Heavy Duty Front Steering Shock (less than 5,000 miles ago)
This truck has been professionally maintained, bearings greased, oil consistently changed at 3,000 mile intervals (conventional motor oil, I was told by the previous owner that Ford had recommended NOT using synthetic on these big v10 Engines).
The maintenance that I have performed on this truck over the past two years is valued at over $4,000 alone. Please consider that while this truck may not appear to be in immaculate condition, has been upgraded and impeccably cared for to ensure safe reliable transportation / towing for your entire family.
