You are bidding for a 2002 MERCEDES E CLASS E220 CDI AVANTGARDE AUTO NON RUNNER/SPARES OR REPAIR with a speedo reading of approximately 237,562 genuine miles.  This car has been owned by the current owner for 10 years and has been regularly serviced and MOT'd. until the last one due in December 2019.The car has bene a faithful servant to me and I've owned it for the last 140,000+ miles without any major issues at all.
On inspection all the oil/coolant levels are correct, the car has had a new battery in January 2020 but the starter motor and/or alternator may have failed. 
When the car last worked, the engine starts on the key as it should and it runs at normal temperatures. The engine, steering, and the brakes all appear to operate as they should.  Once started, you will find that the car may be in limp mode possibly due having stood for a good period of time with a flat battery,  The gearbox/engine codes might need reprogramming prior to any road testing in order to determine any faults.  The purchaser will need to investigate this fault for themselves.  Further investigation is required to determine any faults and gearbox/engine parts may need repairing/replacing to make good.
The bodywork is in good condition all round with a few minor scuffs and blemishes. The right hand side has scratches along the side of the car where I fell asleep on the motorway by accident and the car scraped the central verge, waking me up. There is no damage to the car as a result of this.The half leather interior of the car is in good condition and shows no undue signs of wear or tear but would benefit from a valet.
Please note that the problems stated in the listing are my findings only and are meant as a guide for your assistance and it's possible that other faults might exist.The engine and gearbox might need replacing, dashboard warning lights might be illuminated due to the vehicle standing with a flat batteries or for other reasons, key fobs might not operate or vehicle could have a chipped blade key, the interior trim/chassis/bodywork could have damage or parts missing, brake components/wheel bearings might need replacing, tyres might not be road legal.The car is being sold as a non-runner and should be bid for as such.
I have the V5 registration document showing 3 former keepers, an MOT until 1st December 2019 and the key for the vehicle. Date of first registration was 01/09/2002.
The car is fitted with Mercedes alloy wheels with all the tyres appearing to be in good road  condition.
This car is sold spares/repair as a non-runner and will not be withdrawn from the auction. There is also a buy it now price but if not met, the car will be sold at auction to the highest bidder. 
Collection is strictly by prior arrangement with me and I would appreciate a phone call 1 hour before your arrival. The car is not available for a road test before or after purchase and must be valued as a non runner when bidding and it must be collected by a transporter, trailer or similar method.
