This BMW was donated to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are a company that manages the sale of these vehicles on behalf of the charity andgive the vehicles a fair and honest evaluation for the eventual buyer. The proceeds from the sale of this vehicle will go directly to the charity. Vehicle is being sold as is, no reserve. Buyer must pick up vehicle within 7 days. Comes with clean an open NJ title.

The car has 150,560 miles on it, engine runs well, transmission slips when warmed up, goes in and out of gear, especially on inclines and when taking turns. Reverse works fine. The battery is weak, only stays charged for a few days before it needs a jump. Therefore it lot drives fine and has a check engine light on due to the one code for transmission issue. AC is cold, heat is hot, radio comes on and works fine. Cooling system works well, vehicle was run for one hour and temperature gauge was steady.
Body: The paint is original on every body panel except the hood, which does not match and is faded. There are no rust spots. The bumpers have deep scrapes and some damage from parking. Various minor scratches on the car from being 16 years old. The driver's front door window does not always work. The left rear door panel is loose and the window regulator and motor assembly is missing.

The right rear door does not open, it is as if the handle is disconnected both from the inside and outside. The right front door opens and closes fine. Tailgate works fine. Hood kidney grilles are loose, appear to be aftermarket. Aftermarket window vent shades are cracked, can be removed as these are taped on. Xenon headlights work fine, all other lights work as well. The plastic rear access panel for what would be a tow hitch area is missing.
Suspension: Rear air suspension works well, has held its height fine. Front tires have about 10% tread left and dry rotted. Rear tires have about 80% tread, look good. Brake rotors have surface rust from sitting but the vehicle stops safely with about 70% pad life remaining. Springs and shocks appear to be original.
Driveline: M62 4.4L V8 starts right up, no misfires. Runs well, no smoke at startup, needs an oil change. Oil seepage around the oil pan and valve covers, no active leaks. Transmission, again, is the biggest issue here. Expect to replace the transmission, we are not experts on the internals. For reference, it is a ZF 5HP24 for pre-LCI E53 BMW X5s.
Interior: Green/tan leather is in good condition, has many power options. The driver's floor is wet, due to sunroof leaks. Sunroof opens and closes fine. Gauges work, HVAC controls work, radio sounds good. Headliner is sagging. Has a lingering odor from the wet carpet, looks like it was never smoked in. Will need a thorough cleaning. Trunk area is clean, spare tire is included.
