Seller Description

Navara D40 DE56 UXR. Spares or repairs / running and driving. Known as Roxy. This has mainly been our family vehicle, as well as my daily driver to work for the last 5ish years. Purchased Nov 2015 with around 97k on the clock. It has done around 20k a year mileage with us, My previous commute was 44 miles round trip. Plus the normal running around I was doing; 50 miles a day (plus seeing family in Cheshire added a good 200mileround trip every other month) so it's spent most of its life at 70mph on the motorway, giving us an average of 27mpg.
In our ownership, we had the timing chain converted to a duplex by Billcar Engineer in 2016 around the 103k mark. Also I fitted a LUK dual mass flywheel and Exedy Clutch April 2016 at around 103k. I have a Chinese rear view camera fitted. Which works 70% of the time! China! Also have a light bar fitted to the front as when going down the lanes at night the normal head lights don't light up the verges as much as i'd like. I've also fitted a 12v socket in the tub as we go camping a lot and this means we can have a fridge strapped in the back.
Since then, no major work has been required. We've done our fair share of front wheel bearings, probably due to all the roundabouts, but apart from that the truck has wanted for nothing.

Just been regular serviced
We had planned to sell the truck at the end of the year or at 200k, but last month the head gasket let go and being swamped with work I haven't had the time to look into it/think about repairing it, so i bit the bullet and bought a replacement truck rather then spend time on Roxy.
Run down of the issue. Head gasket has gone. If you fill the coolant up and run the vehicle, the engine is pressurising the coolant system which then if left with pressure in will slowly leak coolant into the bores and hydrolock the engine. If the header tank pressure is dumped after running the engine it will start up later without issue. It may be a bit lumpy for the first few seconds, as a small amount of coolant will get in. I have driven the vehicle for 30min without it overheating when checking over the issue. However, I would say it used/forced out around 2 litres of coolant each time I topped it up. So provided you stopped every 30min and added some more coolant I don't see why you couldn't drive it a long distance home if your careful and don't drive it hard.
Its been a good vehicle and I would've fixed it, but unfortunately I do not have the time. It's taken me the last 3 weeks just to have time to take my tow bar off and wash the vehicle.
There is a tow bar in the back for the new owner and electrics are already fitted. I have simply swapped the tow bars from truck to truck, as the one I had previously fitted is specially modified for carrying my camping equipment. normal white and yellow plates are included with the vehicle.
Please remember Roxy is a 14 year old truck and has 14 years worth of marks. She cleans up well but there is marks all over the vehicle. The worst areas are the removable Snug Top, which has plenty of marks as this was bought second hand, and the tail gate which has a rub mark from Snug Top's rear door (photo added). There is a bit of paint loss around the windscreen and some bubbling near the roof edge. The interior is in really good condition. Please study the photos carefully.
I have included some photos of the chassis. I rodded the chassis with a rust converter made by Dinitrol when i purchased her in 2015. Its never been coated with any wax oil or crap like that. Nissan were offering a coating service but I've been on the owners forum since 2015 and watched this whole thing develop and I wouldn't trust them spraying that crap over my chassis with the mess some of them make. The chassis is cleaned anytime I'm pressure washing the truck, which is near enough every time I wash it. Before winter it gets washed and then sprayed with some fine oil just to protect it, and once the summer comes it gets a heavy wash with some TFR to remove the salt, so it's in good condition in my opinion (certainly looks better than my new Navara which is 08!). Inspections welcome!
Any question please feel free to ask, if any pictures are required ask and ill get them ASAP.
