Full disclosure! Nothing to hide here - if you do your due diligence, a PPSR check will reveal that this car was a repairable write off. Insurance deemed it uneconomical to repair the car, however unlike most repairable write offs there was actually no damage to the car!
This one simply had water get into the engine which caused internal engine damage. The rest of the car was untouched. No water got in anywhere else, no damage anywhere else.
I actually bought the car as I wanted a clean and straight basis for a track car however when I picked it up it was WAY too clean and tidy to trash on the track so I decided to just swap the engine and put it back on the road (reduce my carbon footprint haha!)
That should have been a very straight forward process you would think, but after going through the process of getting this pristine car back on the road after being marked a repairable write off I'd never do it again as it's so hard and so much work with so many inspections, checks, documentation required it's a real ordeal!
I swapped the damaged engine out for one with only 27000kms. Job done. Well, no. After that, it needs to be pulled apart by a Toyota dealer to inspect all of the electricals and mechanicals to make sure it's perfect and then goes to an engineer for a full inspection.
Honestly, there is not a car on the market that has been more thoroughly inspected and tested than this one.
This car drives and behaves like a brand new car. While I had the engine out I did spark plugs and a full service. The engine and gearbox have only done 27000kms!
Any inspection and test drive welcome, you will not find a cleaner, nicer GTS than this short of buying new! It even has a brand new set of tyres, new battery and two sets of keys.
Brilliant car, so nice to drive to work nice and gently and then hit a mountain road and just eat up the bends like no other car can. Simply a joy to drive.
