This vehicle served as a “Proof-Of-Concept” for a potential “Off-The-Shelf” turbo kit for Armageddon Turbo Systems. At the time we had already successfully completed R&D on the new LT1 engines from Chevrolet and had high hopes that Chevy was going to sell a ton of Camaros. Much to our chagrin (probably Chevrolet's too), Camaro sales were extremely poor and Armageddon instead focused resources to the 2[hidden information]+ Mustang GT project instead. That left this vehicle as a one-off and became some sort of my "baby". Early Spring 2016 I purchased this Camaro SS 2SS from Empire Chevrolet in North Carolina. I had it delivered to Armageddon's R&D Facility in Conover, NC for scanning and turbo kit prototyping. It has been turbocharged since new. After the initial prototype design was completed the I flew out to NC to do initial tuning and shakedown testing. This process is documented in the following Armageddon Vlogs: After shakedown was completed I drove the vehicle across the country, stopping for meetings with dealers along the way. The Camaro worked perfectly and drove as if it had come from the factory with the turbo kit installed. It really was a satisfying experience taking such a new design and putting it on the road in a classic street car sense. The plan all along had been for this vehicle would be featured in the Garrett Turbochargers booth at the 2016 SEMA Show. At this point it was quite literally a stock 2016 Camaro SS with a turbo kit installed. It didn't seem fitting for the baddest Turbocharging company in the world to show up in our turbocharger manufacturer's booth with some pedestrian 700 Horsepower machine, so the decision was made to push the "Badass" button and get some legitimate four-digit horsepower numbers into a car that would be driven into, and out of, the SEMA show.  At this point the turbo kit was removed and ceramic coated by Synergy Coatings in Albuquerque, NM. The engine was removed and our complete engine package installed. Lowering springs were installed and a set of custom Avant Garde multi-piece wheels and and appropriate tires available were installed. The LT1 engine in this vehicle comes from the factory with Direct Injection. Explained in one sentence, Direct Injection sprays fuel directly into the cylinder under extremely high pressure. This allows for better fuel economy and cools the combustion chamber significantly. It also has a very hard limit on how much power can be made. To overcome this and hit the Horsepower numbers desired I designed a secondary Port Injection fueling system. This adds 8 more injectors located behind the intake valve and is only active when needed (Over 12 psi at full throttle). This was the first aftermarket Port Injection add-on for a Chevrolet that we are aware of. We tested four different configurations of computer management, pump configuration, injector setup and manifold design. After testing was completed, the production version of the Stand Alone Port-Injection system was installed.  The "SEMA Build Crunch" can be witnessed in the following video: After the show I drove the Camaro in the SEMA Ignited cruise and even spent some time cruising the strip afterwards and enjoying the accomplishment. The Camaro was trailered back from SEMA and every odd-and-end not completed before the show was finished with care.  Since then I’ve basically used the vehicle as a show piece. I drive it from time to time, but have never turned the Camaro all the way up in the interest of preserving the, factory transmission, driveshaft and halfshafts. Currently on High-Boost the vehicle is producing 1200+ Horsepower to the wheels on 108 Octane race fuel. On pump gas and medium boost it makes 800 horsepower all day long. I believe the minimum boost setting still puts 750+ Horsepower to the tires. That's more pump gas generated horsepower than any production vehicle available today not made by Bugatti. If one feels the need to have more power than ANY production vehicle currently on the market, it can be had with a push of the boost controller and some High-Octane Race Gas in the trank.  Below please find the aftermarket parts list installed on the vehicle.
