Up forauction is my 2016 Royal Enfield Classic Chrome 500.
Bike only has 983 miles on it. Just broke in and broke in properly which is part of the reason the miles are so low.
I bought this bike newat the St. Louis Motorcycle Show January 2017. I saw the chrome tank and had to have it. It really is a beautiful bike.
The manufacturer recommends break in to be 600 miles. The dealer told me that Royal Enfield's that follow a 1000 mile break in period are the reliable ones so I have meticulously followed the break in period.
First 300 miles kept it under 35 MPH, fluctuate the RPM's and no lugging. 300 - 600 miles under 50 mph, fluctuate your speed and no lugging. After 600 free to get up to 60 mph but stay off the highway until 1000 miles.
This bike has seen 60 MPH maybe once or twice after the 600 mile break in whenI had to travel on a county highway in between side roads to keep from getting run over. I typically only putt around on the secondary roads that have 45 mph speed limits. My commute is only 1-1/2 miles so even riding to work doesn't add many miles.
I changed the oil and filter at 300 miles per manufacturer recommendation. The only other things I've done is add a unlockable gas cap. Bike stays in the garage so there is no need for a locking gas cap. I have the original one to go with the bike.
I also just put in a glass mat battery. The stock battery was a lead acid battery and I just don't like them. They eventually will drip acid on something and mess up the finish. The bike is connected to a battery tender when not in use.
I also have a Royal Enfield passenger seat that matches the brownish-red seat that takes just a few minutes to bolt on. I've done two up on a couple in town rides with the bride.
The saddle bags in the photo come of easily as well. They are just some surplus backpacks that I use to carry lunch to work or trips to the hardware store and such. They are not waterproof. I don'tride it in the rain anyways.I just thought they fit the look and they were inexpensive.
I also have a luggage rack to go with it that I bought from India and have never mounted it. It did not come with mounting hardware so it will take some playing around to get it mounted.
There is nothing wrong with the bike. I just lubed the chain, washed the bike and got all the chain lube fling off the back wheel. Bike needs nothing except for someone to enjoy it.
I have a clear Missouri title in my name.
