The Ultra Rare Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6 3.0 The story of this very rare Alfa Romeo starts due to Group 1 Touring Car Racing in South Africa.Alfa Romeo and BMW had a great rivalry in Group 1 Racing and for the most part Alfa Romeo Racing Heritage gave them the edge on BMW until the early eighties when BMW was running a 3.5 litre and although the GTV had superior handling with the trans axle setup they just could not catch the BMW's with the 2.5 Litre V6.During a visit to Autodelta in Italy, ARSA (Alfa Romeo South africa) noticed a 3 litre V6 design prototype and inquired when it will be in production, the answer was never, Italia taxes on emissions has killed the project, ARSA immediately asked if the components could manufacture and exported to ARSA for assembly and the GTV6 3.0 was born.Externally the car has a distinctive bonnet and spoiler with side moldings and red pinstripe, but the real difference is under the bonnet.
