Seller Description

For sale as a project with a reasonable reserve is a BMW cafГ© racer.
It is built around a 1979 R100 that I brought as an incomplete bike
in Feb 2016 and built what you see it the pictures over the next three years, since when for
various reasons it has sat in my garage gathering dust. I did plan to put it on
the road last year and took it for MOT which it passed but it had front brake
binding issue and the rearsets were a bit small
so it’s back in garage again. For
these reasons and the fact it has sat around for so long I am selling it as a
project for someone else to finish. It is registered as an historic vehicle and
is currently on SORN. The MOT history
showed bike had done 39k miles and was last on the road in 2009.
The frame engine gearbox drive train and wheels are original, the rest of
bike is from various sources and customised to suit.
Frame is modified to remove rear seat loop and replaced with custom made
seat support for GRP seat The battery is
fitted in the seat hump, and custom made rearsets were fitted.
Rear suspension monoshock is from a Ducati monster. It has a welded
mounting on frame tube with a custom linkage between shock and another welded
mounting on the swing arm.
Front forks were replaced with a unit from 1981 model to allow for Brembo
brakes to be fitted.

Engine stripped and aqua blasted then rebuilt with new bearing shells and
rings, and a new clutch plate.
Handle bars are clip ons with Yamaha Fazer switchgear used to give a less
bulky look
Frame and wheels are powder coated and other paint is black with gold fleck
and gold lining. The fairing and screen are Ricambi Weiss items and there are
two small cracks in the screen around screw holes but both cracks are stable.
