Up for No Reserve Auction is a March 1971 build BSA A65L Lightning. One of the early OIF Lightnings built. Only 11,788 miles on the odometer. Engine number CE 05577 A65L.
The bike is a U.S. import. It has anEtruscan Bronze and Cream paint scheme. The Forums suggest these early OIF bikes (before April 1971) had a dealer recall frame and paint scheme, in response to the 1971 Dove Grey frame model sales fiasco and early leaking swing arm pivot seals. The frame number is E 03400 A65. These days the Dove Grey frame is a rare sought after feature. It is the correct frame colour for this bike.
The bike is in good low-mileage original condition. It was imported from the U.S. 20 + years ago and has been in dry storage un-used since then. The motor turns over with compression. It has not recently been started.
This bike is sold on an 'as is/where is' basis. Viewing is recommended before bidding. Buyers must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.
