Seller Description

I bought this M2 Cyclone from the original UK owner who purchased and registered the bike in Florida USA 2/6/2001.In 2004 he imported the bike to UK on an age related number plate (pm me for reg). Please check Mot history on DVLA as there are some gaps in history particularly 2017 to 2018 when it would appear that some major work was carried out including powdercoating to frame/wheels as well as some very dodgy engine work.On my ride back the bike ran like a bag of crap, I knew it was running poorly when I bought it but was assuming it just needed a good run to clear the carb and my plan was to fix and keep for good so was expecting some issues, but nothing like what turned up.I took it to a qualified Harley/Buell technician for a full inspection where we discovered a few oil leaks. The engine was stripped to find a broken oil pump gear which fortunately hadn't got into the oil pump. On removal of the primary cover we found the crank nut welded on! Once this was removed there was a spacer missing on the left hand bearing set! Should have given up there really, but I liked the bike and decided to go for it.This missing spacer meant the pistons were sloshing around as opposed to going up and down, so the barrels were scored and the +.10 pistons were scrap, so this bike had been bodged up well and truly, also one of the cams was pitted.Still want to bid on it, lol?So, bottom end rebuild, crank re-ground so it's now smoother than out of the factory, new bearings, seals and gaskets. Previously the barrels had been re-bored and +.10 pistons fitted, so +.20 pistons purchased and re-bore attempted, however they were scrapped and used barrels purchased and re-bored. Phew.New valve guides, Andrews high lift cams, oil pump drive gear and oil pressure switch. Plugs, oil and filter, oil tank emptied and cleaned out sludge, 2 new cylinder studs.Replaced fork oil and seals, refitted headlight cowl correctly and an alloy speedo/tacho console. New grips and horn (not now working). This bike originally didn't have a tacho and the previous owner fitted one off an X1? I have an M2 working tacho that will come with bike that you can fit yourself if you desire.I had the shock rebuilt at Falcon Shock Absorbers in Wareham and they have done a brilliant job, it'll need adjusting as I'm 20st! My technician built a brand new stainless steel exhaust and we had some bespoke s/steel brackets welded on to make fit, and contrary to Facebook comments, no it hasn't cracked and sounds awesome! I have been reliably informed that it will pass an Mot, however you can have the original muffler.
I have replaced the gear change and brake lever with LSL alloy components original gear change and brake lever included.Rear wheel bearings were fitted incorrectly so the rear wheel has been re-sleeved and fitted with new bearings, front wheel has a few marks on it.New rectifier, and XB footpegs front and rear, orignals included in sale. Standard carb with aftermarket air cleaner new petcock fitted to tank as old one was stuck solid. There are a couple of tiny marks on the tank and there is a bubble, tiny in the blue stripe so i can't guarantee the paint won't bubble. In fact, i can probably guarantee the tank will bubble at sometime in the future according to the Buell forums.
Lithium battery on bike, seems ok as the bike hadn't been started since last November and it fired up 2nd go.Not a bad paint job with Pegasus and Buell stickers under the lacquer. There are some 3D decals with all the paperwork though they're not A1 condition. Some tread on tyres, engine cases and barrels a bit shabby.
So, the reason i have decided to sell is that i just cannot afford to spend anymore money on it, and believe me i have spent far too much, you can have the receipts for the work done, there is oil weeping from the front bottom of barrel, though not significant but obviously requires a strip down and that costs money unless you are sufficiently adept at doing it yourself.

The bikes runs really well and as i say a bit smoother than out of the factory, it stops and starts. I can't guarantee the bike because its over 20yrs old and it's had a lot of work done.
No Mot, though it is expected to pass, no test rides though you can watch me ride up and down the cul de sac.
Any questions please message or contact me on o[hidden information] i have pics and video of the problems and rebuild if you want to see them.I've tried to be honest bearing in mind how i was by the previous owner. Viewing advised.
COLLECTION ONLY
On 10-Apr-21 at 14:55:31 BST, seller added the following information:Just a thought, i forgot to put mileage down since engine rebuild. At the start it was 23347 and currently stands at 24606 miles, and if my maths are correct then that makes 1259 miles since rebuild. The first 300 miles no more than 2500rpm then 300 to 500 miles no more than 3000 - 3500rpm. At 500 miles the bike was again checked over and serviced, oil flushed out and replaced with fresh oil and filter. Magnet in oil tank and no swarf present. The new cams allow the engine to rev higher as well as increase in power.
Some have said I've been a bit too honest in my description, however i just want the prospective owner to know exactly what has been done to the bike and not to fall into the same trap as me.
I have some lovely pics documenting the rebuild and in particular the hidden problems that I experienced. If you want to see them then I'm happy to WhatsApp them to you as well as some video of the bike running. Thanks for viewing.
