Back in during theearly millennium Caulfield Jaguar Melbourne rebuilt 141 of these Series IIIJaguars and basically sold them as new cars with 2 years Warranty. The ground up restoration included a complete strip down andbare metal respray. All the undercarriage and suspension renewed including newsports shocks, new neoprene rubbers, new 4 post calliper brakes with up ratedventilated disks. The 4.2 litre OHC engine completely rebuilt and slightlyenhanced plus coupled to a 4 SPEED T700 gearboxreplacing the outdated 3 speed Borg Warner. The interior also refurbished to anextreme high standard using finest quality leather and burl timber inlay, woolcarpets, new headlining. Starting price for these gorgeous machines started at$45,000. This particular example was built in 2001 (circa) and was one the earlier flagship models (shown in the advertising photos) which included the Vandel Plas interior. Today this car still presents in excellent condition having travelled a mere 51,000 klms since it’s rebuild she drives like a new car.
