I have decided to sell my Ford XC Fairmont 4dr Sedan which I have owned for 40 years.It now has a 351 Cleveland motorthat had travelled60,000km C4 automatic gearbox9 inch disc brake diffFactory long range fuel tankBilstein shocksHeavy duty front coil springsDeep dish Centreline rims on rear, with huge rubberThe Story:I bought the car in 1979 at age 20, it was originally a stock Fairmont 6 cylinder, and I drove it until early 1981, then decided, as we all did at that time, to make it into a beasty, high powered V8, with flares, big wheels & rubber etc.

. etc.... , bit of a mad max look.I pulled out the old motor & box, had the engine bay resprayed black, including the reverse side of the engine bay / under the front guards in black with a stone guard effect. I was trying to buy a 429 & C6 to get the beast going, but it eventually fell through.This was in a time period when youstruggled tosell a John Goss coupe for $500, which included lots of other coupes, Chargers where difficult to sell for $100, I would see them getting squashed at Sims Metal Mascot Sydney, on a daily basis. So 4 doors where the way to go back then.I got a mate who worked as a panel beater at Rolls Royce, to flare the rear quarters/guards to accommodate the large wheels & tyres, he removed the outer half of the wheel arches, worked the lips of the guards out, then flattened out the recess it the guard, then finally working the original sheet metal (guard) to form the curve, creating the flare. I purchased a new outer half of a coupe wheel arch, which was inserted perfectly to finish the modification.I had already removed a lot of the chrome, for the look I was after at the time, and applied primer to seal the panels/works.Then as you have all heard may times before, along came the girlfriend, kids, house, mortgage etc..Whilst the car sat in the garage, I had owned a XA coupe, XC & XD all 351, with all the top options, Chargers, Mini's etc.. etc.., then the divorce, renovate the new home, raise 2 children as single parent, eventually selling my home in Sydney & moving interstate, taking the car with me.Several years later, I returned to live in Sydney, bringing the car back with me.THE CAR HAS ZERO RUST NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENTNEVER BEEN ON THE ROAD SINCE 1981NEVER BEEN RESPRAYEDTHE BODY IS STILL IN STUNNING CONDITIONEVERY ASPECT OF THE FACTORY BUILD IS STILL INTACT & STILL LIKE NEW except for the flares, which I suppose, you could now purchase wheel arch sections from Rare Spares, if you wished to return it stock.With absolutely No Rust Repairs,Ever Required, a fresh coat of paint, this car would be absolutely stunning.You can even resurrect your old, rusted out matching numbers vehicle ?There are many options available, depending on your requirements.Nowat theage of 60, with 5 bulging disc's in my back, it is highly unlikely that I will ever be in a physical condition to complete the vehicle as it deserves, and would love to see it go to a person with the time and passion to finalise this stunning vehicle.Iyou haveany questions or require additional photos, please feel free to contact me on 0403 080 726, George.If you are serious, make the effort to inspect the car, if you are interstate, return flights to Sydney this time of year, are very cheap, and Botany 2019, is right next to Mascot airport !!Also Please Note the Following:I have the compliance plates for the vehicleThe engine, gearbox & diff, came from a 1976 factory ZH 351 Fairlane I had owned, so inserted it all into the car prior to transportation interstate, hence the duct tape to stop hoses / accessories accidentally scratching the engine bay.The car can be viewed at Botany 2019, where it is stored in my friends Rob'sworkshop, he can be contacted on 0401 003 777 , 7am - 6pm Monday - Saturday.
