Seller Description
So here it is, an original early sandcast! Frame number CB750-[hidden information], engine number CB750E-[hidden information].The 1969 CB750K0 is the bike that started the rise of Japanese machinery and the beginning of the end of the British motorcycle industry.
Under development for a year, the CB750 had a transverse, straight-four endine with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and a front disc brake, neither of which was previously available on a mainstream motorcycle.
Cycle magazine called the CB750 "the most sophisticated production bike ever", on the bike's introduction. Cycle World called it a masterpiece, highlighting Honda's painstaking durability testing, the bike's 120mph (190 km/h) top speed, the fade-free braking, the comfortable ride, and excellent instrumentation.
Only 7400 "Sandcast's" were produced world wide.
The bike was an original northern Alberta bike, before the current owner, it had two previous owners. The first one I do not know much about, the second owner bought it in the early 1980's and put it in his office at his warehouse in Fort Mac (hence the low miles). The current owner bugged him for years to sell it to him, and in 2012 he finally did. The bike received a full nut and bolt restoration last year. All original partsthat were changed out were kept and are included in the sale. All parts were NOS Honda, ordered from Honda Canada, Yamiya, CMSL, or David Silver Spares. It received:New chain and SprocketsNew Exhaust - YamiyaNew seat cover and foamNew plug capsMaster Cylinder RebuildNew gaskets and seals for the entire engineNew APE Cylinder studsNEWGripsAll newCablesNewRear Brake Adjusting nutNewBattery BandNewWiring Harness bandsNewTank Emblem setNewSide Cover emblem setNewCam chain and guidesNewFork bolts and bootsNewturn signalsNewbrake hoseNewneutral switchNewClutch cover, cylinder head, generator cover, and transmission cover screw setswheels were rechromed, and new spokes were relaced to the hubsNew floats were installed in the carbs which were cleaned in the ultra sonic cleaner.
When Current owner restored the bike he wanted a bike that was as good as new, and could (if you wanted) be a reliable everyday rider. Bike runs better than new. Here is a link to the bike running:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zz4eFZzHgUU
