Seller Description
For sale is my now very
rare 1982 Honda CM 450E … bike has an MOT which expires on the 8th
June 2021 but is currently on SORN and has 12207 genuine miles on the
clock.
The bike is offered in
very very good and original 1982 condition, was imported into the UK
in 2020… it was bought as a restoration project prior to the
pandemic in October 2020 and although started, ill health forces me
to sell the bike before completion. Prior to purchase the bike had
been stood for some time but had undertaken and passed an MOT in June
2020 so was fine for that.
As you can see from the
photographs the bike is in superb condition with all of the parts
still original including the tank and side panel paintwork. My plan
was when the restoration was finished to have the tank and panels
re-painted in the original colour as there is a small dent on the LHS
of the tank front.
All running gear is
fine, the front fork seals are good as are the front and rear tyres,
both sprockets and chain and the front and rear brake drum shoes have
plenty of meat left on them, the seat also is in fantastic condition
with no damage, wear or tears anywhere. All switches, lights and
indicators work although for some reason the front indicators are
illuminating when the front light is on but this should be a simple
job to sort and one I would have sorted beforehand if I could.
The bike starts and is
running and rideable although response is a little flat which I
expect is the carburetors which will just need a clean and overhaul
and I would suggest an oil and filter change too to get it back into
tip top shape. The bike is also missing a set of mirrors but apart
from that is complete and all original which is extremely rare and
which makes it extremely collectable as there are not many of these
classic bikes about any more.
All in all this bike is
in 9/10 condition with just a few minor jobs to complete to get it
into almost showroom condition and a must for any classic bike or
Honda CM enthusiast like myself. I would love to see this project
completed but unfortunately it will have to be someone else who gets
the job done.
Bike is sold as seen,
viewing is welcome with social distancing measures observed. A video
of the bike running is also available so contact me to view.
Collection needs to be
undertaken or arranged, cash on collection or bank transfer accepted.
This is a fantastic
opportunity to purchase a true rare '80's classic which are extremely
hard to find but a joy to own and ride.
