Seller Description

NO RESERVE - WILL BE SOLD - SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY
Jaguar enthusiasts would understand what a very rare and special vehicle this is. A very early 1974 Series II long wheel base XJ6, was a special order 4.2L factory fitted with a 4spd manual w/overdrive. I have verified with Jaguar Heritage that it was a genuine factory 4.2 manual. To make it even rarer it was also ordered with a Webasto Sun Roof when new. I have been collecting Jaguars for over 20 years and have never seen a genuine series II factory 4.2L manual net alone with a Westabo roof fitted. From information gathered from the previous owner it was imported from the UK by a Perth dealer new. As told to me “a lady who ran a massage parlour” had it specially ordered it for her then 30yo boyfriend with the plates JAG.030.

I purchased this Jaguar about 18 months ago with the intention of fully restoring the vehicle yet i have had the opportunity to purchase another rare Jag, no room and she must be sold.
Prior to my purchase from the previous owner the Jag sat unused for some years waiting for some loving after it had been restored 8 years prior in Albany. Prior to my purchase the fuel system was cleaned out, fuel hoses replaced and SU carburettors rebuilt . The car started and ran when i purchased yet hasnt been started in a while and would need a good service. The carbys were rebuilt prior to my purchase yet would need a professional tune. I’ve taken it for a short drive in the back streets when first purchased and brakes were excellent, clutch and gearbox worked fine. There was no gearbox or diff whines. The heads were reco’d by previous owner using hardened valve guides (which don’t come loose like the Jag ones apparently). All head bolts were redrilled for slightly larger stainless steel threaded bolts that go all the way to the bottom.
I was told the person who previously restored the car rubbed the car back to bare metal by hand. The car is exceptionally straight. He also recovered the Webasto sunroof, which works beautifully. As all the XJ6's are known for rust around the front and rear screens this example is excellent however at the top of the front and rear windows the vinyl surrounds is showing weathering and signs of minor rust around the top of window seals and should be repaired. The whole webasto roof section was replaced by previous owner and is in excellent condition. Due to the webasto roof creating several vinyl stitched sections the whole roof will not need to be replaced, only the front and rear sections would benefit. The car was also fitted with a Davies-Craig cooling system controller, electric water pump and twin thermos fans, which all work as they should. This car runs cool. The previous owner replaced the Davies-Craig electric water pump recently as the old one had sat unused for too long.
All the lights, electrics, etc. work. The interior is tired and the seats need reupholstering The hood lining of the webastoroof is excellent. Previous owner rewired all the electric windows with individual relays as apparently these switches were prone to burning out when taking full current.
Please, serious inquiries only, this is a very rare one -off factory Jaguar that deserves to be owned by someone who loves this mark. This vehicle would drive far superior to any etype once restored. This is a one off - you will never see another one with this combination. She is not perfect, she needs some love and money spent on her - priced accordingly, would not take much to register and enjoy a running restoration if that whats you would prefer.
Sold as is unregistered and will need to be towed.
Inspection recommended and with any car of this age that has been stored this is highly encouraged PRIOR to purchase. This is an auction. Dont bid to inspect. I dont have time for time wasters, if you win the auction you pay for the car WITHIN 3 DAYS with cleared funds prior to inspection or pick up by bank deposit. If you are not happy with these conditions DONT BID.
Happy to provide more photos, any additional info and video walk around for any serious inquires.
Good Luck
