Seller Description
Thanks for looking at my Kawazuki.
It’s essentially a 1983 gpz 1100 unitrak with zzr1100 front and rear end and bandit 1200 engine/loom/brakes.
First registered here in 1998, Mot June 21.
Frame up restoration by previous owner last year after it was rescued from rotting away in a garden.
Around 60k on the clocks, engine has 30k but no proof, gearbox rebuilt as 4th gear had lost a tooth, head off to check valve clearances etc all spot on. New maxton shock, heavy duty battery, new chain and sprockets etc etc.
Lots of love went into this and I’m only moving on because of work being impacted by lockdowns and boilers just packed in.
Loads of pictures from rebuild I can forward on to anyone genuinely interested.
Tax and mot exempt in a couple of years and with that in mind there are little bits to improve on yet. Paint around fuel cap starting to bubble etc. Still original paint as far as I’m aware.
Seat reshaped and recovered, probably loads I’ve forgotten.
Goes well and sounds amazing through one off exhaust, danmoto can with pod filters jetted to suit.
No silly offers please, your not going to park up next to another the same.
Cash on collection.
On 12-Mar-21 at 15:35:42 GMT, seller added the following information:To answer some questions that are coming up repeatedly, the original tank mounted fuel gauge is not connected and untested. I had planned on retro fitting a digital oil temp and voltage display into it.
The original bandit fuel gauge is there, although not working. It never bothered me as always just reset the trip when filling up. I’ve had a look and the sender wiring crimps have been pulled from main loom, if I get time I’ll suss out connections and rewire.
Ignition switch relocated to below seat/right hand side panel.
Tank, side panels and rear seat unit are original and show signs of age related wear and tear on close inspection. It was built to be a cool, retro, useable classic not a show pony, having said that it wouldn’t take much effort to get 100% if that’s what your after.
I would prefer potential buyers to come and view before bidding if possible, but I don’t think anyone interested who has bid so far will be disappointed.
Happy to send more pictures, videos or walk rounds if your unable to view in person.
All the best,
Gav.On 12-Mar-21 at 22:02:09 GMT, seller added the following information:Sorry guys, just been chatting with another ebayer who has pointed out frame, tank and panels are 83 Zx1100a1 and paint is not original to that model.
Gpz model started in 85 from what I’ve researched. So it’s the earlier zx1100-a1.
I can’t amend listing as there are already bids. If this affects anyone who has bid so far, let me know and I will remove them for you.
Best regards and apologies again.
