KERMIT, Our bright lime greenMG Midget is now reluctantly for sale, as we have a new Spridget race car under construction for the 2020 season. This Midget is well known around theSprite Clubs ofAustralia.
The agreed comprehensive insurance valuation for this MG is over $9000 more than my opening price on this auction.
Kermit has been a reliable Club car, being used as a road car, for Club events and for sprint meetings at Morgan Park.

I have even driven this car on a 5500Km round trip to the southern states several years ago.
Mechanically this car is spot on. The high performance 1275cc engine is very healthy, and the gearbox is new. All brakes and suspension have been renewed / uprated during my ownership. It has bigger front brakes, stiffer suspension and a thicker anti- roll bar fitted. Wheels are 14” x 6” alloys with almost new road tyres. Comfortable aftermarket seats are fitted along with new seat belts and a roll cage.
When I found him, Kermit had been languishing in a country garage for over 30 years till I brought him back to life some years ago. So he has only been driven for about 17 of his 51 years. Needless to say, this shows, as there is no rust anywhere, and the bodywork is perfectly straight. The paint work was re -done back in the 1970’s and is now showing its age, as over 30 years inside a garage has resulted in imperfections in the paint. ( Or an aged patina is another way to describe it. )
I will be sad to see this car leave us, but there are too many sports cars in my shed now. Kermit is currently being sold unregistered, but roadworthy and registration arrangements may be able to be negotiated with the new owner if in Queensland.
