Moto Guzzi 850 Eldorado 1973 – recommission/restoration project Project, not on the road for a few years, bike complete (can’t see
anything missing), but requiring full restoration or recommissioning. As usual,
some bits have survived well, others not so. Very original “loop-frame” bike, unrestored, standard
specification. Been in the UK since 1997, so has V5/c etc. and is registered as
a Historic Vehicle (therefore tax and MOT exempt). This bike has an original MPH
speedo, therefore we suspect it was originally in the USA. We have way too many customer jobs on, therefore this is the one
of several Guzzi’s we will be offering for sale as project bikes. DELIVERY AVAILABLE (ask for a quote).PLEASE

Engine: complete, but completely untested, so will need checking before use and
some work should be anticipated. Valve train looks ok. Standard 844cc, engine
number suggests it should have helical timing gears (later production changed
to a cheaper timing chain)-
Gearbox & Clutch: present and external inspection ok, engaging ok, but could
require some work (will need checking)-
Drive train and final drive: no obvious issues, turns and engages freely -
Electrics: complete, present, but untested, almost certainly will require some work-
Non-standard exhaust silencers – from another model, couple of dents and do not
do the looks of the bike any favours -
Controls and carbs etc. all present, but will need work/rebuilding, some of the
cables worn/old and will need renewingChassis-
Front forks: operating without issue, no bad pitting, moving freely-
O/E Guzzi Rear shocks: operating ok, will need cleaning up or replacing as
cosmetically not great-
Cables: present, some will need replacement-
Brakes: all present, and operating ok, front works, but way out of adjustment.
Correct front single leading shoe for this model -
Rubber items: all there, some will be too perished to save -
Tyres: too old to use, wheels hold pressure fine-
Seat: base good, cover has the small split, foam ok-
Lights: present, but untested or checked out-
No batteryCosmetic-
Chrome work: most not that bad and will clean up-
Alloy: more dirty than in furry, should all clean-up-
Frame: original Guzzi paint, therefore old, but actually not that bad-
Wheels: good, will clean up ok (not damaged)-
Paint work: non standard old repaint in gloss black, not that good a job, but
no damage/corrosion issues-
Side panels: not cracked, usable-
Fuel tank: original tank, no corrosion issues, looks ok inside, no dents, but
has a paint chip on top (see pictures)-
Mudguards: good, useable conditionOther-
No history -
V5/c present and all numbers match (registered in the UK in 1997, has correct
age related “L” reg)-
Numbers and spec. match an Eldorado assembled in the first half of 1973-
