Seller Description

**** PRICE REDUCED TO SELL ****$16,500 US dollars or $22,000 Canadian DollarsWhere can you find a rare big block Mopar Muscle Car as unique as this one, for this money?!This is my "BEEPER"
A restored 1974 Plymouth Road Runner
Factory BIG BLOCK CAR1 of about 830 built with a 400 auto, now powered by a 440.
I do not have original engine.
Original Fender tag with the car, verified matches body numbers.
NOTE: The car had two broadcast sheets, but due to a recent move we are unable to locate them at present. If and when found they will be mailed to the new owner.
Clear Canadian Title.
Will sell worldwide.Sold new at Varsity Chrysler in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Rarer than a Superbird, with only 830 of these RR's built. This one was specifically built for Canadian export, and has the codes on the fender tag (see below), so likely only a few dozen were built for export, and with the colour combo and interior it could be a 1 of 1 built for export. When I got the car in 2009 it still had it's dealer tag for the trunk lid and I called the dealership in Edmondton as they are still in business. I was able to chat with one older salesman and he was able to tell me that he remembered the white RR on the lot. He said that year there were a few they had lined up out front, but the others on the lot had different options, interiors and engines, etc.

He specifically remembered the car, and was happy to hear it was still around. Unfortunately he said that after three moves, the dealership did not retain any of the old paperwork from it's order or sale.I removed the fender tag and by looking at the reverse I was able to clearly make out all the codes. I've attached a reversed photo of the fender tag, one where I took a photo of the back and reversed the image so the codes can be more easily read. The tag reads as follows:Top Line:N42 R11 V8R V9R 28 ENDJ54 L31 M21 M26 N41F18 G54 G64 G74 H41 J25V4W C A88 B41 C16 C56EW1 W5EW 000 509 C74692Bottom Line:E68 D34 RM21 P4G [hidden information]The significance is of the "C" all by itself on the 4th line down is interesting, and makes the car rarer than I initially thought. The code book says that the "C" is to be built for export to Canada, and the other C is followed up by the order number. So with only 830 built, and the code book listing that they were built to US specifications, it doesn't even mention for Canadian export, so it's quite likely this is one of only a handful of such cars that were shipped across the border in 1974.N42 - Bright Exhaust TipsR11 - Radio AM - Music Master 2 WattV8R - Sport Stripes Roof Strobe & Body - "R" indicates Red in colourV9R - Sport Stripes Hood Performance - "R" indicates Red in colour28 - 28" Radiator WidthENDJ54 - Sport Hood includes hood scoops on selected modelsL31 - Turn Signal Lite-Hood/FenderM21 - Drip Trough MoldingsM26 - Wheel Lip MoldingsN41 - Dual Exhaust SystemF18 - 1974 = 65 Amp AlternatorG54 - Left Hand Outside Mirror REM/CHR/RACG64 - Right Hand Outside Mirror REM/CHR/RACG74 - Dual Outside Mirrors Left Hand Remote / Right Hand Manual ChromeH41 - Heater with upper ventJ25 - Windshield wipers 3-speed variableV4W - "V4" = Vinyl Roof Halo - "W" = WhiteC - Build to specifications for: Canada OrderA88 - Interior Decor Package. In 1974 only 830 Road Runners were built with this engine and an automatic transmission. Likely only a handful were built for Canadian export.Rare Factory Triple White car, with White paint and White half vinyl top and White interior. Factory red stripe package with red carpet, and red plaid inserts in the seats.
The cool colour combo is what drew me to this car when I found it.
It is an Alberta Car and was restored over course of 3 years between 2009 and 2012.
Sold new by Varsity Chrysler in Edmonton Alberta Canada, and still have original dealership tag on trunk lid. In 2009 I was able to track down an older man who worked for the dealership and remembers selling a few of these white Road Runners in 1974, he said that only two had red carpet, most had black and most had plain white seats, not plaid. It has seen very little use and has sat idle in storage for the past 5 years.
I believe I've put less than 1,000 miles on it since the restoration was done in 2012.
I've driven it less than a hundred miles so far this season, between my work and having too many other toys this one has just been sitting idle, so I'm offering it for sale.
When it came out of storage this spring I had my mechanic overhaul the carburetor again to ensure no issues from sitting and some new seals put in the transmission as it had developed a leak.Ready to Drive and Enjoy
It's a turn key ride that will need some minor finishing touches:- Antenna (original lost by body shop)
- Clips for wheel lip trim on one side (body shop lost some)
- Passengers side Mirror needs to be installed, body shop made mistake and covered over the holes thinking the car only came with one mirror.
- Drivers seat needs cloth portion of the seat cover replaced
- Rear bumper could be re-chromed, very solid.
- Rear window had optional heated glass, but needs wire reconnected to function properly.
- Underside is well undercoated because of our harsh Canadian climate I have not detailed it.440 Auto now, was factory 400 auto, but engine was upgraded by a previous owner and the 400 was not kept. My mechanic redid the top end, but said the bottom end was still good. Older Thrush exhaust, still solid and functional. New stainless Boom Tube Exhaust Tips, and Cherry Bomb mufflers. 8-3/4" Rear end with open 3.23 gear-set from factory. Has the Chrysler 100 amp alternator with all proper factory brackets as I was planning to put a big stereo system in it, but never did. This set up will also accommodate an A/C compressor should you wish to add a factory style A/C set up to the car.The original wheels were 14" Rallyes, I opted for polished aluminum 17" American Racing Torque Thrust II's with low profile tires.
Front end is solid and passed inspection without needing any replacement. Brake calipers, rotors, pads and drums, etc, were all redone during resto.Body was sandblasted and had minor body work before paint. Only one hole in the floor was found under the drivers heel, and there was a new partial floor pan installed by the body shop at the time of restoration. Sub-frames and rest of under-body all is in excellent original condition.Paint is Base-Clear, then wet sanded and buffed.New front windshield and half vinyl top professionally installed.Has wheel lip mouldings and chrome base bumperettes, where most Road Runners only had the black rubber bumperettes. Front bumper has been triple chrome re-plated, rear should be done by the new owner.Interior has new headliner and new carpet. Lower door panels were redyed and put back on. Rest of interior is original. Interior was kept out of the sunlight for decades and well preserved. The original Dash Pad has no fading or cracks!! Should replace the drivers side cloth insert panel of the seat cover as it has a rip. Rest of seats are in great original condition.
