Here is my Royal Enfield Bullet which I have owned since 2009. It was built in 1979 and imported into the UK in around 2003 and given an age related T plate when it was registered with the DVLA in 2004., so is tax and MOT exempt.

It has been fitted with a genuine UK Redditch made 350cc engine of 1963 vintage, and Amal monobloc carb so avoids many of the quality foibles of Indian made bikes. Mileage show 1299km, which is probably since it was imported.
It has been fitted with metal Enfield panniers, by the looks of it since new, as well as a sprung single saddle. I don't know if it was an ex army bike, but it has that vibe.
It is a good solid bike and starts easily. the gearbox needs a bit of practice to avoid all those extra neutral, but it is no worse than any other Enfield box of the time.
Currently it has no centre stand, but you could get one for not much from Hitchcock's.
Comes with original Indian documents, old MOTs and some invoices for recent work carried out by Eclipse Motorcycles, plus a Bill of Sale from Tollgate Classics dated 2003 for ВЈ1600.
Good inexpensive classic motorcycle.

The guy who bought the bike from Tollgate Classics and initially registered the bike in the UK has got in touch to conform that the bike is a genuine Indian Army bike. He changed the engine and gearbox for the Redditch items. He sold it in 2008. He has also confirmed that he bought it form Tollgate for ВЈ600, not ВЈ1600, and I have now noticed that the receipt had been altered by a previous owner. Sorry for the confusion on that.
