Holden, Torana LX, SLR 5000, 1976 Replica 308 Turbo 400
Hi all. I have the pleasure to put up for sale this beautifully restored
Torana LX SLR 5000 look alike.
The car has just undergone a ground up rebuild and is fresh
of the build.
The car started life
as an original Absinth Yellow L20 6 Manual and with a lot of money and time has
been transformed to the beauty you see here.
Body:
The shell has been preserved to an amazing level I would
describe it as being very clean to immaculate.
There were only one or two very minor rust repairs required
to get it to where it is, one being on the bottom rear back quarter which has
been properly plated.. The rest seems untouched.
The car has then gone through a professional 2K Absinth
Yellow paint job with SLR body kit and SLR 5000 lettering scheme which makes it
very attractive and an absolute eye catcher.
Will also come with 2 Brand new SLR door side mirrors not fitted
in the pictures.
It is finished off with a Brand new quality built 120 Litre
Drop Tank with half inch pickup and sender to give it the Bathurst look.
Interior:
Mainly all Brand New…The interior has all newly fitted carpets,
Seat Trims (Golf Ball SLR Style), Roof Lining, door tops, pillar and parcel
shelf. New, SLR style Door trims in slate. Brand new SLR Steering wheel and ADR
approved Seat Belts.


Presents very nice to immaculate.
The car has a freshly painted Short Console and brand new
Hurst Shifter. Not original but fitted tastefully to suit the theme.
The Dash is a Silver faced SLR style with the Standard original yellow needle not an SLR. The
clock is not working. I have a new Autometer Gauge to supply and can fit or the
Dash can be easily upgraded with a Tacho and 200kph speedo by a dash
restoration business $700, I have not had time and am happy to reflect this in
the price.
Engine:
Newly rebuilt nicely worked 308 with street driving and
performance in mind.
L34 Style ported
heads with stainless valves and machined Isky performance valve springs locks
and retainers. Crane roller rockers. Comp Cams.. Hydraulic Cam and Lifters for
low maintenance. The cam is a 244@50degrees, recommended for up to 6500rpm. Cam
card supplied
Flat Top pistons 10:1 compression, balanced and machined..
Arp bolts throughout and only good name brands used.
To top it off it has a 750 Secondary Vac Carb sitting on the
well-known Strip Master Manifold. These manifolds where well known to be one of
the best to get for the original style heads.
Brand new Pacemaker extractors and new exhaust system.
Brand new Alloy Radiator and Twin Thermo Fans
EST 400HP
Engine is Brand new and comes with receipts and details.
Gear Box:
Hughes Turbo 400 automatic. Purchased new from Rocket Ind, it is the Street version
with a 550HP rating and a brand new Hughes 2500rpm Stall so it keeps its street
manners. Brand new Transmission cooler and lines.
Again all receipts and
warranties supplied.
Diff:
The diff is a very good Cond Banjo diff. Although these
diffs are not very strong, I have kept this diff for its authenticity and
originality. The car being Auto should also be very forgiving. Will be fine for
everyday street drive cruising and the occasional hit of power but if you
intend to race the car then I advise an upgrade with this engine combination.
Suspension:
Completely rebuilt and painted front end with brand new ball
joint Bushes and Rubbers throughout.
New King Springs 1 inch lowered up Front and heavy duty
lowered second hand rear springs. Brand new Gas Shocks front and back.
Brakes:
Original Torana with rebuilt and reconditiond V8 Booster, new
engine bay Brake Lines and new Master Cyl.
Wheels and Tyres.
Brand new 18 inch FR Simmons with 215 Rubber up front and
275 Rear rubber back. Fill the car out quite nicely and appeals with the Black
and Yellow colour scheme.
Description:
Overall a lot of hard work and effort has gone into the
build. The car is not a high standard "Show car" rather I would describe it a
very clean "thorough", quality Restoration. Almost everything is brand
new and is fresh off the build. I have probably missed few things.In regards to rego. The car will come with a NSW Blue Slip
so you will be able to get it registered right away.
The car is an absolute stunner and is a beautiful Lookalike.

Please... If you don’t not have the cash and or want to Low
ball the asking price. Don’t waste your time. I am open to close offers but
will not entertain time wasters.
Toranas this nice built to this standard are rare and hard
to find. This car is an appreciating asset and will not last.NOTE: Currently, It still has some minor things to complete and will be
available Next Week finished. You will be the first own and drive it after the build so
please expect very Minor teething issues.
