Seller Description

Up for No Reserve Auction is a beautifully restored 1969 build BSA A75R Rocket III. This bike is being released from a collection that was destined for museum display.
With low mileage (7660) and matching correct numbers (XC 00802 A75R), this bike was professionally restored by a BSA Rocket III mechanic in the 2000s. Restoration used NOS parts and original period parts from donor parts bikes. The restoration needs 'finishing off' with detailing such as clutch cable clips, BSA logo stencilling on the seat etc. It has been in dry storage ever since the restoration works were completed. It has 1.1 miles since restoration.
At launch, the BSA Rocket III was the most powerful machine in its class. Today these charismatic machines enjoy an enthusiastic following worldwide and are supported by numerous recognised specialists and an owners' club.
Classic CycleThe Rocket IIIs were fast, very fast. Faster than the Norton 850 Commando, faster even than the new Honda750..

.on a good day. And they quickly began racking up victories on road racing circuits all over the world.
Today, they are much sought after by collectors. And they are one of the best classic British motorcycles to ride in modern times, with ample power to keep up with just about anything on the road.
Rider MagazineThe Rocket 3 was a good bike, a great-handling piece of machinery and reliably powerful. It was capable of doing the 30-second mile on the back roads, and genuine 120-mph motorcycles were hard to come by back then. This was a motorcycle that was born to go, and go fast. Once in the twisties the well-ridden Rocket could run away from the competition.
Cycle WorldMagazineThe Rocket 3recorded a top speed of 117.03mph (188.34km/h), along with acceleration times of 0 to 60mph of 5.6 seconds and 0 to1вЃ„4mile in 13.71 seconds at 98.46mph.
This bike is sold on an 'as is/where is' basis. It has a new battery and is running. Viewing is recommended before bidding. Buyers must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. The images form part of the description. Although restored, the bike has been sitting in storage for 15 years, and carries that storage patina e.g. perishing on small rubber parts.
This is a No Reserve Auction. The highest bidder owns the bike.
Payment by Bank Deposit is available. Local pickup from the southern highlands of NSW by you or your bike courier. We use Dave Golledge from Kwikshift – phone 1300KWIKSHIFT - for a personal, professional door-to-door bike courier service. The bike does not leave our premises without full payment. On-line communication with serious bidders through eBay email initially is welcomed.
