They were running driving vehicles when parked, but most have just sat around for a while and will likely run fine again (Known for simple and extremely robust design and known as Americas toughest trucks and buses) but will just need a basic go over first by a mechanic. Were running great just a few years back before my late 86 year old Father "The REO Man" got too sick & elderly to maintain the "museum" like he used to. So all LOW MILAGE for age!Most have heavy-duty Manual gearboxes / transmissions and the REOs mostly have the LEGENDARY super robust and reliable "bullet proof" 'GOLD COMET' (High Chrome Nickel & Sleeved),OHV 6 cyl petrol Engine!!These were the usual REO engines used in Australia and known asTHE ultimate & most durable, modern, powerful and efficient truck engine in their day and therefore were a popular upgrade for ALL brand trucks!----------------------------------------------------------------------Best TRANSPORT for you to arrange for vehicles is a low loader etc. (We can provide some good heavy transport company details if needed)For example a local one here often charges $5.50 per Kilometre total (charged 1 way only to deliver) which includes everything.

REO GOLD COMET Six Cylinder Petrol ENGINES:Were the very last and best produced by REO and the most powerful and efficient etc. They were very popular for upgrading other makes of Trucks & Buses, as they were considered the leading, modern cutting-edge engine of the day!
OHV, High CHROMIUM NICKEL, Valves in-head. 292, 331 CID etc. They are also a wet-sleeve design. This means that the cylinder wall (sleeve) is a separately machined part that fits into the cylinder bores cast into the engine block. This enhances durability because the consistent wall thickness of the sleeve allows for consistent heat transfer, ensuring the cylinders stay round during thermal expansion. Additionally, the hardened cylinder sleeve is more durable and wear resistant than a softer, cast-in wall. Also, the replaceable cylinder sleeves protect the block from damage (e.g. in case of foreign objects entering the cylinder) and can easily be replaced, which enables simpler restoration to original specifications. The wet-sleeve design also allows the engine to be rebuilt easily to factory specifications, sometimes without even removing the engine from the vehicle.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
