VW Beetle 1958 Semaphore model. 1200 motor.
Matching numbers shell and chassis.
The car needs minor jobs to put it back on the road but
mainly its a solid rust free body and pan.
Both doors are removed and windows removed from doors. Rust
minor on underside of doors easy fixed.
Left rear window removed as minor rust hole as per photo.
Both rear lower quarters on the corner have
minor rust. One side you can poke
your little finger in the other side is not much. Engine cover minor rust holes
at bottom. All else great.
Paint is good, minor dent left guards hardly worth a
mention. Roof good as are gutters. Its got the sunvisor and rear Venetian blind
worth 300 each?
The car was driven to my house from a kilometer away and
drove well all be it with no doors fitted. The Senior chap I purchased it from
was going to do a paint colour change and gave up, leaving it in the garage for
about 3 years.
Front bumper will be fitted as will rear tail lights. Driver
door needs re paint but both doors are good except for minor underside rust.
Rear seats are from a 63 beetle, front seats Honda on VW
rails. It even has wooden floor mats made by the first owner. Brakes had all
new slave cylinders. Steers, brakes and drives. Had new 6 v battery hardly
used. Theres a bucket load of new looking seat belts I havent fitted and spare
generator and other minor stuff I wont need. There is a 6 to 12 volt inverter
fitted under the dash for accessories.
Great car to do a few minor jobs on over Christmas and have
it as a driver fairly quickly. My plans have changed and have a new project so
this must go.
I have described the car as best I can but you should
inspect prior to purchase or send someone to verify what I have said above.
Possible delivery to Newcastle areas for a fee. If you buy this car sight
unseen, do not complain when you feel it isnt what you thought it was. Its 60
years old. Come see, touch and feel it, climb all over it and make sure its what you want.
Contact must be made within 24 hours of sale, full payment
bank deposit within 7 days, no PP unless you pay the fees. Can work with your
freight company and can recommend a trustworthy person to pick up and deliver
Melbourne way if needed.
