The XJ sedan first appeared to the public in the spring of 2003 as a 2004 model year. The car has the appearance of a typical representative of the Jaguar family. Luxury Autobiography is available onlyonly for long wheelbase XJ LWB. It features leather interior with contrasting stitching, illuminated stainless steel sills, natural oak trim, and separate rear seats with massage and ventilation functions, and 10.2-inch displays in the front seat backs.

The line of power units consists of powerful engines. They all come with direct injection and variable valve timing.

After the modernization, the output of the 3.0-liter diesel engine increased from the previous 275 to 300 hp, and the peak torque reachedtig 700 Nm against 600 previously. The engineers managed to achieve this by improving the turbocharging and injection system. This engine accelerates the car to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds (it was 6.4 seconds) and has a low emission of harmful substances of 149 g / km, complying with Euro 6 standards.

Gasoline engines are a two-liter "four" (240 hp, 340 N • m), a three-liter "six" (340 hp, 450 N • m) and a five-liter "eight" in three versions (470 hp ., 575 N • m, 510 HP, 625 N • m or 550 HP, 680 N • m).

The gearbox for all versions is one - eight-speedth "automatic" ZF: 8HP70 or more compact 8HP45. The drive is rear and full.
