The debut of the Verlingo took place in 1996, it gained great fame in many countries and already in 1997 was recognized as the best van in Europe. Verlingo is the result of a fruitful collaboration between Citroen and Peugeot. The Verlingo is a versatile vehicle that is equally well suited for both leisure and work.

The model has two body types: with a wide tailgate and with swing doors. The dimensions of the car (length 4.11 m, width 1.72 m) have a positive effect on maneuverability, which is especially important in urban areas. With the rear seats folded down, the useful volume of the luggage compartment is 3 m³.

Depending on the intended purpose, the Verlingo is equipped with the appropriate motors. There are two carburetor (1.1 and 1.8 liter) and diesel (1.8 and 2.0) engines with a capacity of 60 and 75 hp to choose from.

Comfort and stability on the road are provided by front and rear independent suspensions with two anti-roll bars. The car is equipped with powerful and at the same time soft brakes, which, if the client wishes, can be equipped with an ABS system.

The high seating position provides excellent visibility from the driver's seat. The cabin has a large number of different containers that can be found everywhere in the car, even in unexpected places like the ceiling.

The standard of all versions - heated rear-view mirrors, washer and headlight range control, power steering, steering wheel height adjustment, heated front seats, immobilizer, air conditioning, driver airbag, etc.

The on-board computer receives all the necessary information: warning about exaggerationspeed, the amount of mileage remaining until the next service, automatic activation of the rear window wiper when reversing (if the front wipers are working), etc.

The model was updated in 2004. Citroen specialists were faced with a difficult task - to improve the car, which has not lost its relevance for seven years of production. Therefore, the structurally updated Citroёn Berlingo has practically remained the same. He did not receive all-wheel drive and newfangled off-road modifications. Gamma Power AGThe drivers also remained the same: petrol 1.4 l / 75 hp. and 1.6 l / 110 hp. engines and two turbodiesels with a volume of 1.8 and 2.0 liters. There is also a modification with a 1.1 liter engine, but it was not supplied to Russia.

In the exterior of the restyled Berlingo, the main emphasis is placed on a radical renewal of the front end: in particular, the headlights, fenders, bumpers and radiator grille have acquired a completely new shape. In addition, the hood line has been raised. The car has become more proportional, and the driver, seeing the edges of the hood, has a better sense of the dimensions. Like the previous generation, the new Berlingo boasts a huge trunk. The volume of which is 2.8 m³ for the passenger version and 3 m³ for the van. It is important that the "spare" is not in the trunk, but under the floor outside, which eliminates the need for unloading when replacing a wheel. In addition, there are a lot of all sorts of pleasant little things; some are standard, others such as the mesh curtain that can be used to separate the trunk from the passenger compartment are available as options.

The salon has undergone dramatic changes. There is a new instrument panel with air duct deflectors from Citroёn C3 and gearshift knob from the same model. The panel is very simple and traditional in design, but everything is very convenient and practical. A new four-spoke steering wheel was installed, and the upper part of the panel was supplemented with a shelf, in front of which an electronic clock was placed. Everything else remained familiar. As before, the Berlingo is offered in two versions: either a van or a passenger combi version. The number of doors varies: the base van has two doors, while the more expensive versions have tror five. A sliding door is installed on the starboard side, if desired, for an additional fee, you can install the same door on the left. The basic version has a two-leaf tailgate that opens to the sides, and for a surcharge, you can get a one-piece tailgate that opens up. There are some visibility issues in the van model due to the doors. Since the rear doors are hinged, it is they that close the view: the vertical pillar of the rear doors “divides” the viewing sector in the interior mirror exactly in half. Plus three nrear seat headrest. The side mirrors partly save the situation: they are of a decent size and give a good "picture".

The cabin provides many containers: large pockets in the doors, numerous recesses and shelves (including the ceiling), "hiding places" under the feet of passengers sitting in the back, cup holders, a roomy pull-out drawer under the right front seat, etc.

Structurally, the Berlingo resembles a passenger car: independent front suspension, semi-independent torsion bar at the rear, front driveetc.

The debut of the second generation Citroen Berlingo took place in the spring of 2008 in Birmingham. But the successful Berlingo of the first generation did not begin to be removed from production, but continued to be produced at the same plant where the production of the second generation was launched, but under the name Berlingo First. The car has become not only prettier, but also larger: compared to the previous generation, the body has added 85 mm in width and 240 mm in length (while the base has increased by 30 mm). The passenger version has also increased by 50 mm in height.

A body that still combines roomyA "box-shaped" rear with an aerodynamic front. To protect the body, Berlingo is equipped with large bumpers, wide side moldings and underbody protection. Sliding rear doors ensure comfortable boarding and disembarkation of passengers in all conditions.

Highlights include a large glass surface and a Modutop roof (optional) for excellent interior lighting and an open-space feel. The rear tailgate with opening glass stands out. The cargo volume of the compact version of the Berlingo II van has increased by 10% (up to 850 kg payload and 1.8 m useful length).

If earlier the van was built on the Xsara / Peugeot 306 platform with a rear independent torsion bar suspension, now the C4 Picasso / 307 are taken as a basis, which have a simpler chassis, and there is a usual H-shaped beam at the back.

The interior design is restrained. High-quality plastic, round deflectors lined with chrome and a gear lever placed on the tide of the front panel create a very favorable impression. Passenger versions, in addition to everything, delight in the mass of various compartments, includingI have a ceiling console with a shelf the full length of the cabin - just like in airplanes. The second row of seats in passenger versions is formed either by a sofa that can be folded in a 60:40 ratio, or by three removable chairs with adjustable backrest tilt.

The Berlingo II became heavier by an average of 200 kg, so the 1.4 liter version was discontinued. In Russia, the car is offered with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 90 hp. or 110 hp For Europe, 1.6 HDi diesels with a capacity of 75 to 110 hp are also offered. Gearbox for all modifications five-speedI'm mechanical.

The list of available equipment includes ESP, a hill start assist system, a radio with steering wheel control, an on-board computer, a CD changer, a hands-free system with a Bluetooth interface, six airbags, an alarm and an "off-road" package (reinforced suspension, increased ground clearance and engine protection).

Safety is not the least in the design of the Berlingo II. Proof of this is the fairly high performance according to the results of crash tests conducted by EuroNCAP - four starss and 27 points scored.

In 2012, the second generation restyling was presented at the International Geneva Motor Show. The car is still produced in two body styles: a van and a minivan. The length of the Citroen Berlingo minivan is 4380 mm, width - 2112 mm, height - 1801 mm. The van is available in two versions: with a length of 4.38 meters (short version) and 4.6 meters (long version). The wheelbase of both versions is the same and equal to 2.73 meters. Modification with a body length of 4.38 meters offers a cargo compartment with a volume of 3.3 ku... m., and the 4.6-meter version has a cargo compartment with a volume of 3.7 cubic meters. m.

After the restyling, nothing radically new in the exterior of Berlingo appeared, however, the designers managed to refresh the car's appearance a little by redesigning the radiator grille, front bumper and side mirrors. In addition, fashionable LED strips now flaunt under the headlights, and the fog lights have received a metallized frame. And, of course, not without new body paint options.

The main priorities in the salonfunctionality and practicality remained, but for each trim level the company revised the color palette and used upholstery and trim materials. There were no constructive changes.

During the restyling, the level of equipment of the model was significantly improved. The most expensive auto equipment includes front airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution system, emergency braking assistance system, front power windowsand. As an option, the multifunctional Modutop system is available, including compartments for storing a variety of small items.

As power units for the updated Berlingo 2012, European buyers are offered gasoline engines with a capacity of 95 and 120 hp, as well as one of four diesel engines, the output of which varies from 75 to 115 hp. Moreover, the 90-horsepower engine is also offered with e-HDi micro-hybrid technology, thanks to which the French engineers managed to reduce fuel consumption and make the engine less harmful to approx.environment. On the Russian market, the car is available with 1.6-liter petrol engines with a capacity of 90 and 120 hp, aggregated with a 5-speed manual.

The car is produced in 4 configurations: Attraction, Confort and Exclusive. The XTR version is equipped with a 10 mm raised suspension, engine protection, and a special body configuration (steps under the doors, bumpers).
