The Fiat Brava is a small family car that was produced by an Italian car company between 1995 and 2001. The Fiat Brava was produced in a 5-door hatchback body, which, in fact, differed from the Fiat Bravo model. Note that the Brava name was first used for the original versions of the Fiat 131, which were produced in the United States. Immediately after their release in 1995, the Fiat Brava and Bravo models were named “European Car of the Year”.
The Fiat Brava along with its 3-door sibling Fiat Bravo were released to replace the successfuloh, but already obsolete Fiat Tipo model, which was eventually discontinued in 1995.
As standard, the Fiat Brava was equipped with a 1.4-liter 12-valve engine with a capacity of 80 hp. The following petrol engines were available as an option for this model: a 1.6-liter 16-valve power unit with a capacity of 103 hp. , 16-valve engine with a volume of 1.8 liters and 113 hp. however, the top variant, a 20-valve 2-liter R5 engine with 145 hp, was offered only for Bravo models called HGT (after 1999, the power of this engine increased to 152 hp). The top speed of the Fiat Bravo HGT was 217 hp. Turbo diesel versions were also available for the Brava and included two 1.9 liter 4-cylinder engines with 75 hp. and 100 hp.
In 1996, the Fiat Marea car was released on the basis of the Fiat Brava chassis, and in 1998, a small 6-seater minivan called the Fiat Multipla was developed on the basis of the Brava model.
In 1999, Fiat Brava received some changes, which mainly affected the dashboard and proposed for the cari engines. A 1.2-liter 16-valve engine, borrowed from the Fiat Punto, has been added to the list of proposed powertrains. The power of this power unit was 81 hp, but the 1.4-liter engine was no longer offered after 1999. In turn, the 1.9-liter turbodiesel underwent modernization, which made it possible to make the engine more economical due to more precise tuning, and its power increased to 105 hp. Such results were achieved by the JTD injection system installed on this engine.
In 2001, pThe Fiat Brava was discontinued and replaced by a small family car called the Fiat Stilo, which ultimately fell short of the manufacturer's financial expectations.
