In 2005, the idea of turning the Boxter into a real coupe came to the bright minds of Porsche designers and marketers. At the same time, the Boxter with a non-removable metal dome was proposed to be considered an independent model, for which they came up with a crocodile name - Cayman.

The official premiere of the car took place at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2005.

Externally, the two-seater sports coupe Cayman S looks almost like a Boxster S with a hard top. At the front, the differences are minimal - round "fog lights" are cut into the air intakes of the front bumper instead ofOkster rectangular.
