Buick Park Avenue 1975-1990 was a full-size Buick Electro sedan, differing from the standard version in the trim level. And since 1991 it has been an independent model. For the first time, the concept, on the basis of which the serial version began to be produced later, was presented in 1989 under the name Park Avenue Essence. For its graceful body lines, it was nicknamed "American Jaguar" (American Jaguar).

The 4-door Buick Park Avenue sedan was built on the C-platform from General Motors. Under the hood, as standard, there was a 3800 Serie power unit.s I V6 with a volume of 3.8 liters. As for the transmission, a 4T60-E 4-speed automatic transmission was installed here.

In Europe, the base version of Buick Park Avenue, sold between 1991 and 1996, looked slightly different from the North American model. The exterior changes included the following elements: modified taillights with amber diffusers; amber brake signals; larger side mirrors; different location of the front position lights.

In 1992, a top-tier version of Buick Park Avenue called the Ultra was released. In 2005, production of Buick Park Avenue was discontinued, and already in 2006, it was replaced by the Buick Lucerne.

In 2007, Buick Park Avenue was reintroduced to the Chinese market. It is a full-size car that will be built by General Motors in Shanghai based on the Australian Holden WM Statesman. The new Park Avenue will be powered by the Australian-built High Feature V6 (also known as the Alloytec V6) engine. The car will only be available for the Chinese market.
