The new Lancer X was developed at a design office in Trebur, near Frankfurt, Germany. The range of 16-valve 4-cylinder DOHC engines with an aluminum block of cylinders and a proprietary MIVEC electronic valve timing system provides high dynamic performance while meeting the most stringent environmental standards.
There are two petrol engines to choose from: with a volume of 1.5 liters and a capacity of 109 hp. and a volume of 2 liters and a capacity of 150 hp. Mitsubishi Lancer with a 1.5 liter engine can be equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-range INVECS-II automatic transmission, and for cars with a 2.0 liter engine there is a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-range SportronicR CVT variator with paddle shifters petal type.
Mitsubishi offers three equipment options, differing in terms of equipment: "Invite", "Invite +" and "Intense".
