In September 2007, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Jaguar unveiled the rear-wheel drive five-seat E-class sports sedan - the XF. The car replaced the S-Type. This Jaguar is modeled after the cosmopolitan C-XF concept unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. The car has lost the modest charm of the British aristocracy. Now Jaguar is fashionable and modern. The XF's design has nothing to do with the retro styling of its predecessor. A low roof, a long hood, puffy wheel arches - this is the sporty character that Jaguar now has.
It is based on the improved S-Type platform, which is 12 cm longer. The XF is 4,961 mm long and 1,877 mm wide and has a long wheelbase (2,909 mm), making it 45 mm longer and 25 mm wider than its closest rival, the Audi A6. Visually, the XF gives the impression of a sporty, muscular and dynamic vehicle. The "Jaguar" character of the model is determined by its front fascia - centered around a large radiator grille, which creates a focus for the characteristic lines running back along the capoy and body. At the rear, design elements are combined to emphasize the vehicle's width. The taillight graphics cover the rear fenders, bringing the eye into the well-developed, muscular rear wheel arches. Under the huge wheels of 18 and 19 (and for the Supercharged version - even 20), there are no less worthy brakes with discs with a diameter of 326 and 355 mm.
The interior design gives a sense of spaciousness. The wider rear wheel track and the widest rear seat in its class mean that adults at 1.93m can be seated in total comfort. YingThe terrier moves from traditional themes to modern sporting luxury. This is achieved through the use of new materials as well as new graphics and interior lighting systems.
The Jaguar XF is positioned as a sports car, so it has powerful engines that can accelerate the car to 250 km / h. Range of power units: 2.7-liter turbo diesel V6 with a capacity of 210 hp. (100 km / h in 8 seconds), 3.0-liter with 250 hp. and two 4.2-liter naturally aspirated engines with a capacity of 300 (100 km / h in 6.2 seconds) and 420 horsepower (100 km / h in 5.4 seconds). DvThe gates are paired with an automatic transmission with the unique Jaguar Drive Selector - with the optional Jaguar Sequential Shift.
The top modification of the XF will be equipped with a proprietary Jaguar active suspension CATS (Computer Active Technology System), which automatically adjusts the stiffness of the shock absorbers depending on driving speed and road conditions.
