The "Spitfire" is being sold in "as is" condition with no warranties expressed or implied.
I had purchased this Spitfire from an older Triumph enthusiast that had purchased it over 20 years ago for a local weekend driver. It was always used on the nicest of days and always garage stored. The Triumph led a charmed life and no expense was spared maintaining it over his ownership. It was maintained by a Factory Trained Mechanic that owned a British Repair Shop. All of the work was performed there until the owner passed away and the shop was closed.
Mechanicallythe Triumph is in very good condition. As noted, the engine underwent a complete engine rebuild with clutch by a Factory trained mechanic approximately 13,000 miles ago. It was upgraded to a single weber carburetor. Fitted with Electronic Ignition.
Recent work:
Steering RackBrakes gone through including new calipersNew Brake M/CNew Clutch M/CNew Waterpump and fanExhaust work
The Triumph starts easily with the aid of the electronic ignition and weber carburetor. It still retains a manual choke. It has seen very little use over the last few years and could benefit from a tuneup and adjustment of the weber carb - seems to be running rich. Battery/charging system is fine with no issues. All electricals are in correct working order with the exception of the radio working intermittently. Cooling system was renewed with a new water pump/fan. Runs at normal operating temperature. Exhaust system is looks relatively new and has a nice throaty sound to it. Clutch was replaced during the engine rebuild, however the transmission has a typical weak 2nd gear syncro. Upshifting is fine as long as you don't rush it. It will grind downshifting unless the rpm's are fairly low. The Spitfire is fitted with KYB shocks. The car has plenty of power and drives straight.
Thebody is in excellent original condition as shown in the pictures. The body is all original with the exception of an older repaint in the original color years ago. There is no evidence or history of any previous body damage. Rocker panels are original with the correct factory seams. The car features it's original stripes which was very common on Spitfires back in the day. Paint finish is nice. Has typical dings and touch up spots that one would expect from an older survivor example. The bottom of the left rear wheel arch has some surface rust bubbles as shown in the pictures. Also, the passenger side lower valence has some rust bubbling. Original floors are very solid. The Spitfire presents very nicely and always gets compliments. Bumpers/brightwork is in good condition as shown in the pictures. Grill is in good condition. Panel fit is excellent. Hood/nose fits great.
Theinterioris in excellent original condition as detailed in the pictures. The original "hounds tooth" seats are in excellent original condition showing very little wear. The driver's seat does have a tear at the bottom seam as well as another spot. Driver's side seat recliner does not operate correctly. As a result the seat back cannot be adjusted and the seat back has a few inches of free play. Original carpet is in good condition showing very little wear. Fitted with original "Triumph" floor mats. Dashboard is in excellent original condition and has been well preserved. All switches work properly. Wipers and heater fan work fine. Door panels are in good original condition.
The Convertible top is in excellent condition as shown in the pictures. The top fits fine and all snaps/fasteners work properly. The top features a zip out rear window which is a great feature on the very hot drives.
The trunk is in excellent condition. There is no rust or damage. It is fitted with the original trunk mat as well as some carpet. Trunk will only open with the key. Has the original spare tire with jack/lug wrench and original bag. Also includes the original factory spare tire cover which is in excellent condition.

I do not have a "buy it now" price, but would consider ending the auction early for a serious offer.
