If you are a dedicated Harley Davidson Sportster enthusiast, then this fine machine merits great consideration. It has only 11,757 miles since new and everything works perfectly as it should. The bike is reasonably priced with respect to other Sportsters, especially when you compare it to other Sportsters that are older, have more mileage, and are essentially just the Classic, rather than the rare XL1200R Roadster. This machine offers a very generous amount of fun and value versus money spent.
lt has impressive throttle response and this particular Sportster has plenty of "grunt" indeed and will get you on your way very rapidly without any hesitation and pulls like a freight train in all 5 gears. This is the rare XL1200R Roadster model that came from the factory with the dual disc front brake system, and it is very effective! It is a bit on the loud side with the Vance and Hines exhaust pipes, so be neighborly when you ride, especially if you are out early in the morning! It also has a quick detach windscreen which gives the rider options as to whether they want functionality or a clean and sporty look. The engine and transmission have zero mechanical issues and the brakes and tires are practically new. This particular bike has heavy duty chrome spokes on the front wheel. I was not the individual who installed the whitewall tires, but, they don't do the bike any harm cosmetically. Change them if you like, but, you might as well put some mileage on them before you do as the tires are in excellent condition, so, unless the whitewalls somehow bother you, leave well enough alone and enjoy the crisp performance that this machine delivers. The bike is essentially clean enough to eat off of any of its surfaces and the sheet metal items, such as the fuel tank and oil reservoir are flawless. It is, in essence, in factory new showroom condition and does not leave any room for improvement, unless, of course, your desire to do something else to suit your own needs prevails.
