PLEASE SEE THE MANY VIDEOS BELOW PLEASE LOOK OVER 100 PHOTOGRAPHS BELOW.PLEASE CALL ME AND COME VIEW THIS AMAZING ICONIC 1970 SUPER BIRD AT MY HOME.LIKE SHOW ROOM NEW EVERYWHEREPLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING.This1970 Plymouth Super Bird 440 six pack super commando is 100% original #s matching day one original motor, transmission, and rear end.VERY RARE ONE REGISTERED OWNER IN 51 YEARS. THE NEXT OWNER WILL BE THE 2ND REGISTERED OWNER IN 51 YEARS.
This rare bird is truly extremely rare being a one registered owner in 51 years. Original 1970 Certificate of title in original owners name. Documented in the NASCAR Plymouth Super Bird race program and listed as #29 serial number out of only 1,920 built by Chrysler in 1969 for 1970 production. Low carefully driven 54,273 original miles.
B5 Blue with original day one complete 1970 original white bucket seat interior. Please see the videos.
Please excuse my video of this Bird as I’m an amateur taking videos and the wind gust were up to 30 miles an hour and made a lotof noise. This car has been said to be one of the most documented super birds known to exist.
The original owner walked into the dealership in 1970 when this car was brand new on the showroom floor. Chrysler Plymouth built with a 440 four barrel super commando motor from new 1970 delivery to Clift Chrysler Plymouth dealership in Knoxville TN. The new original owner Roy E Johnson JR asked the dealer to install a factory 1970 440 six pack set up before he took delivery. At the time the original owner could not find another 440 six pack Super bird anywhere in his favorite color combinations B5 blue with white bucket seats like this car was optioned and that’s when he asked the dealer to install the car with the 440 six pack that he desired.
The dealership removed the 440 four barrel intake, carburetor, and air cleaner off the original motor and wrapped them up in blankets and put them in the trunk where the original owner brought them home and put them away. The original 4 barrel carburetor, intake, and air cleaner that the dealer removed in 1970 are shown in the photos as testament and still are like brand new and will go with the sale of this car. You will notice the original 1969 four barrel dated K9 November 1969 #47385 in the photos that was removed at the dealership in1970.
The original owner treated this car like it was his first born from new keeping the registrations starting in 1970 day one as photos show for all the years of his ownership. Too many photos of all the registrations to show here. However, I have all the registrations he saved in a 3 ring binder as shown. Please understand there's so much paperwork and documentation on this car that it would take to many photographs just to show you the paperwork and original documentation of all the registrations broadcast sheets original order dealership paperwork. I would have to say there can't be too many 1970 Super birds only registeredonce documented for 51 years and this may be the only one to exist?
Also original 1970 Certificate of origin title, and so on I will try to photograph some of documentation as much as I can in this listing. When I purchased this car from the museum it was told to me that this was a very rare Super Bird with dealer installed 440 six pack added at Clift Chrysler Plymouth dealership in 1970 and I was amazed. I drive this car every year to our local car shows and Mopar shows and whencollectors hear the story of this car having a dealer installed 440 six pack and they are mesmerized.
You can see the original VIN#s in all the photos. This car draws a crowd every time I drive it anywhere especially into the car shows. This car had one repaint on its original virgin body in 1996 and looks like it was painted 6 months ago, and is a perfect testament of how well this car was taken care of, and how beautiful andlaserstraight the body is.I guess you could say I have been a care taker for years and have exercised this beauty and kept it in a climate control heated storage and never registered the car. This car has its original day one motor VIN number stamped in the block and like I said this is the original motor, transmission, and rear end that came off the assembly line being built in 1969 for 1970 production. Just to let you Moparcollectors know one more time this car left the factory as a 440 super commando four barrel VIN #RM23UOA and as mentioned had the 440 six pack added at the dealership for the original owner as it was explained to me with documentation from the museum I purchased from..
I’ve been told by many Mopar collectors this is the only bird they have heard of or seen and quite a rarity with dealer installed six pack.
Original body on this car is laser mirror straight with every body panel it left the factory with never a speck of rust any where. This car has never been off the frame and rotisserie restored.
Like many collectors have realized when these cars are rotisserie restored they lose their original tight integrity and never seem to drive like they were built at the factory. This car is still virgin unmolested from new with all its original factory body mounts still like new with beautifuloriginal interior.
