I bought this car as a repaired Cat S in September 2018 (listed on insurance database 29th April 2018) As a suspension part was required it therefore became cat S
rather than N – this was such a minor level of damage, full photographs pre-repair are available but see last photo for damage pre-repair. Front left (passenger / near side wing) Chassis Rack end and tie rod end (if you don’t know what
these are see diagram on this web page https://www.testingautos.com/car_care/when-replace-tie-rod-end.htmlI have owned Cat D (now called Cat N) and Cat C (now called Cat S) cars before without any issues and as long as you have details or verified photographs of pre-repair/accident damage and subsequent MOTs, service history, they can be good deals saving 1000's.  Since "gap insurance" was introduced  i.e you can have a new car to replace a damaged one as part of your insurance, there are a lot of CAT N & S available that didn't suffer that much damage at all.  My advice if you are looking at other CAT N or S cars is don't buy without evidence of the accident / repair - personally I wouldn't buy without photos.  Because that is the providence you need for reassurance and future resale. All the photos we had prior to the repair in 2018 are available.
