In 1880, the history of the legendary motorcycle manufacturer Triumph began in Great Britain. Then it was far from the production of motor vehicles. German Siegfried Bettmann sold bicycles and, oddly enough, sewing machines. A little later, together with Mauritz Schulte, they created Bettmann & Co and added motorcycles under the Triumph brand to the sale. A skillful move or just an accident, but they named the first motorcycle No. 1. The first pancake did not go lumpy and the company was able to prove it. Consumer demand for reliable and high-quality equipment was constantly increasing. The military drew attention to this and constantly made orders for themselves. In 1920, the company began to re-equip its premises and establish the manufacture of automobiles. Unfortunately, this production did not become profitable and the management had to abandon it. In 1936, the Triumph motorcycle production was bought out. Edward Turner became the new director and chief designer. It didn't go unnoticed. A year later, the company released a new model, which determined the direction of motorcycle production for years to come. It was the Triumph Speed ??Twin. In 1940, the plant was practically destroyed by German bombers, but after two years production was restored. The updated line of reliable, modern motorcycles gained more and more popularity. And it didn't stop until the 1970s, when Japanese competitors entered the market. Back then, even sweeping victories in the races could not contain the decline in sales. The payback was in question, and in 1983 a new investor from England, John Bloor. Carried out a reorganization in the company with the injection of huge capital. As a result, a plant was built and the latest, modern technologies were introduced. It did not go unnoticed. In 1990, Triumph launched a new line that gave a fresh breath.
