Seller Description
Relisted due to scofflaw bidder who by all accounts was trying to leverage a Vegas auction sale to buy this bike.
So, here it is again, perhaps in time for a Vegas time frame buyer!!!
If you are going to the January Las Vegas auction looking for a great example, you are in luck. You can save hotel costs, and hefty buyer's premium right here.
I had a listing set up for said auction, but am not going due to poor health and age. I have gone to that auction for years, buying and selling; but no more.
This is a 1971 genuine Dunstall Norton Commando. Fresh from restoration, engine not even run in. Completely restored by a world famous Norton man here in the USA for me.
The bike is an original Dunstall, in one of the very rare Dunstall colors. Its a metallic green, which the bike was when sold. Yes, you probably have never seen a green Dunstall, but do your diligence. One or two exist in the world, spend some time on the web. Also, this color was verified for me by the Dunstall collectors group in the UK, along with other bona fide Norton sources both in the USA and England. The color is specific to Dunstall, its not Norton green, or a BRG.
The restorer professionally matched the paint, and used period metal flake as well. Its a first class effort.
The bike is completely restored, runs like a top, needs nothing. Has new battery, new period correct tires. Almost 100 percent Dunstall parts. The PeaShooter exhausts are not Dunstall, although Dunstall offered them later. They are top quality UK made.
Frame is restored, forks rebuilt, engine rebuilt, Dunstall brakes, hubs, etc. Everything is correct and immaculate.
I am selling due to retirement, health, and age. Been a long good run.
Seller responsible for pickup and shipping. I have an excellent family business shipper I have used for over 20 years in Phoenix, but up to the buyer; I will cooperate with any shipper within reason.
Grab this now and save a trip to Vegas. Will sell to international buyer. Said buyer to arrange all shipping details, and pay my ebay fees for selling international (yes, they do charge for this, among many other charges now; in fact almost the same cost as Vegas to sell.)
Ask all questions now, no returns.
Bike is as new, sold as is. Clear Arizona title. Buyer to pay $500 deposit on purchase. Balance due CASH OR EQUIVALENT within 3 business days. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Thanks for your interest. On Jan-22-22 at 05:15:01 PST, seller added the following information:To answer questions: the engine and frame numbers match.
Also, I noticed that the seat welting on left side was askew. That was because in my present post-cancer weak condition I pulled the bike up on its centerstand and pulled on the seat in conjunction with the frame and moved said welting, which is not cemented. BTW the welting is period NOS. Not glued on. Also, this effort made the seat unit slightly askew. All has been corrected. The frame is perfect and straight; when I say restored I mean blasted and painted. The last 3 pics posted should show all these facts. I wanted to delete the askew pics and post new ones, but Ebay will not let me without completely starting over, which they charge dearly for now.
Also, please note that this bike was restored by a very well respected Norton expert This was not by any means an amateur exercise people. In the usual fashion, forum lookee-loos and folks with no real interest, or money to purchase this motorcycle can post to their hearts content and with no small glee re this bike, but I implore those with serious interest to feel free to contact me. I have been at this interest for over 40 years, 24 years on Ebay and over 3000 transactions.
This has been in my personal collection and I am selling because of age and health. Those that know me, know that I procure the finest possible and sell only when pressed. This is one of those times when someone with knowledge and foresight can obtain a rare bargain. Thanks again.
