Yamaha TY175 / Yamaha TY125 Totally reconditioned and ready to go, everything done and very tidy twin shock trials bike. Ready for twinshock trials, nothing else to do.
This was bought as a project in need of total restoration several years ago while I was competing in twin shock trials and was bought as a replacement for my TY250. The TY175 is more agile, lighter and has an easier power delivery, which makes it ideal for tight tracks which I typically competed on.
This was a TY125 when I bought it, but I have converted it to a 175. It could be converted back to a 125 easily for schoolboy use. I still have the 125 top end available as an additional item, not included in this sale, but, successfull bodder will get first option to buy it
It finally got the overhaul finished during the latest lockdown and no expense was spared to produce a competitive and totally sorted twin shock trials bike. It is not road registered, but, that could be done relatively easily for ВЈ55 and some paperwork gathering. I went through the process a few years ago with a TL125 Honda and it all went through seamlessly.
The restoration included:
The engine has been completely stripped and every bearing, oil seal and gasket was replaced with new. The Crank was professionally rebuilt with new big and small ends. A 175 barrel was bought and rebored. A new piston kit was fitted.New clutch plates.New front sprocket.New rear sprocket.New chain.New Betor gas shocks.New front tyre.New wheel bearings.New swinging arm bush kit.New wider trials footrests and new brackets made to lower and move the footrests rearward.New chain tensioner.New seat unit.New rear mudguard.New front brake cable.New brake shoes.New clutch cable.New kickstart.The tank did not have any dents, it was repainted, new decals and lacquered with petrol proof lacquer.The frame was just wire brushed and painted with Hammerite smooth paint.Front mudguard was sound, but dull, so it was painted.New Domino throttle.New levers.New front number plate.New fork seals and oil.Carburetor re jetted as 175.
The bike is very tidy (For a trials bike) but it is a trials bike,not a show pony. It is ready to trial and should give years of good service in the twin shock trials scene, or, could be registered and used for long distance trials. DEspite some of the horror stories posted on social media, this is not a difficult process, I have done it previously for a TL125 and it was easy if you follow the guidelines and supply all the information requested.
