Seller Description

This is a 1992 Yamaha TZR250SP 3XV V-Twin Two Stroke 250cc.I would say this is the most successful Yamaha TZR250 V-Twin that has been raced in the UK. It has been raced and developed since 2003. It first won the North Glous Street Stock 400cc Championship and a almost standard road bike. It was then raced in North Glous F400 with some modifications for a few seasons. Then it took its second Championship in the BEMSEE EDI Asia F400 Sub 64 Class.

At this point it was running standard carbs and ignition and was about 62 bhp. It's now been developed to race in the BEMSEE Blue Class and boasts larger TZ based Carbs and a Zeeltronic ignition system. Last dyno session it was making 69bhp.The bike is a TZR250SP, so has the Dry Clutch, etc you would expect on a SP. The cylinders have been tuned to TZ spec. The suspension is all SP Spec. The Front wheel a wider TRX850 one and the rear a TZ250 4DP wheel. Has the small rear caliper and bracket fitted. The builder and rider of this bike has done all the work himself and was planning on racing it at the Classic TT last season. So it is set up quite soft on the SP suspension. The bike still has the UK V5 logbook and is on a "J" reg. The rear subframe has been modified, so putting road equipment back on would not be possible. Here is a full list of spec on the bike:Forks and Yokes 1994 SP (later 54mm spec) - Forks been re-chromed and fully rebuiltFront Wheel wider 3.5" RimSP Radiator with Scitzu Temp Gauge fittedAprilia RS Rev CounterZeeltronic Programmable Ignition - Set up to run on Unleaded FuelSP Bottom End with New SP Crank (200 miles on it)1992 TZ250 Cylinders (Ported)1992 TZ250 Cylinder Head (Re cut for unleaded fuel)Fresh TZ250 Pistons fittedTZ250 Cooling pipes (so no thermostat housing)TZ250 4DP Carbs and Carb Rubbers (No Airbox - Jetted to suit)TZ250 Exhausts (modified to fit)Race RearsetsFibreglass Race 3XV Bodywork1991 SP Rear Shock (Fully rebuilt by MCT Suspension)1991 SP Frame (Subframe modified - so can not fit battery/oil tank)1991 SP Swingarm with TZ250 4DP Rear Brake Caliper fittedTZ250 Rear WheelAll been set up on a dyno to run on Super Unleaded. We are selling on behalf of the owner as he is giving up racing. He is happy to pass on his knowledge to the new owner and help them if possible. Not an easy decision to make giving up this bike. It has been their lifetimes work.We can not open to the public currently due to the lockdown. We can send you more photos and videos if required. You can arrange to collect from us (Click n Collect) and this would be done outside our premises in the fresh air and with masks on.We do have a motorcycle courier that we work with closely and they are still operating under these restrictions. It is done with a professional bike courier that we work with. If you have any questions regarding our sales please feel free to contact us. We will get back to you as soon as possible.Registering an Import MotorcycleYou hear a lot of horror stories and Chinese whispers about registering an import motorcycle for use in the UK. We will give you everything you need to get your purchase from us registered here in the UK. Nova – Notice Of Vehicle Arrival: This is the most important one to make registering it hassle free. We register every motorcycle we import with HMRC on their NOVA scheme. Any import tax or duties that are due are paid by us and most importantly this is all done within the timescales set by HMRC. So you have to do nothing. We will give you the NOVA reference number, so DVLA can recognise it on their system if needed. Date of Manufacture: This is something you will need to register it with DVLA. Most of our motorcycles have the original logbook with them from the country they have been imported from. This is given to you when you purchase the bike and the date of manufacture is on this. If however no logbook is available. This can be because it has been lost, the machine was never registered for road use (quite often the case with Enduro & Trail machines), or no logbook available from the country it came from. Then we can either arrange a dating certificate for you (This currently will cost you £25) or we can give you a list on contacts that will be able to do this for you. MOT: The motorcycle will need to be MOT’d before registering. Any motorcycle MOT centre can do this for you. Of course you have no registration plate at this point. So they will MOT the motorcycle and put just the frame number on the MOT. Cost is the same as a normal MOT, so don’t let them charge you anymore for this service.Road Tax: When you make the registration application to DVLA. You will need to tax the vehicle. Details of this are on the DVLA V55/5 form. Cost depends on the motorcycle’s cc.Application of UK Registration: You will need a V55/5 form from DVLA. You can order one online from DVLA and they will even send you a guide of how to fill it out with it. However you will still be confused! The form is designed for all vehicles from Mopeds to Minibuses. This means most of the categories do not need to be completed for a Motorcycle. Best way to know which to fill out is to get an existing UK motorcycle logbook and this will tell you what categories are used. We can help you with this form if you need advice. It’s not as bad as it looks J. Then you send this form with the £55 registration fee and all the other paperwork requested. (MOT, Logbook or Dating Certificate, evidence of your UK home address, etc)Then you are done. Normally takes DVLA 2-3 weeks to send you a UK V5 logbook with the motorcycles registration number. Don’t worry it will not be on a “Q” reg, DVLA will give you an age related reg number.
