I bought this bike from a retiring mechanic from Michigan in September 2014. He had maintained it meticulously and had only placed approx 4000 miles on the bike since he bought it new.
5 years later I have only put about 1250 miles on it but more importantly to me I have customized it further into the cafe racer style I became 100% passionate about after visiting a European rally at the Ace Cafe in London.

I have actually always been about the remodel and less about the drive.
You are getting this bike for far less than I have in it - believe me. You can't build it for this. I simply have other life priorities which see me moving on past this beautiful bike (reluctantly).
The Thunderbird "Sport" is the upgraded version of the Thunderbird 900 in which the power increased to 82 hp from 68hp and it included the 36mm flat side Keihin cv carbs and six-speed gearbox (rather than the 5-speed). 2004 was the last year of this Thunderbird model.
You will see before and after shots of the bike. The spoke wheels and larger slip-ons have been sold but all of the other removed parts will go with the bike including the rear fender, brake light, turn signals, luggage rack, and double seat (yes two seats included). While the fairing isn't on the bike today it has been repainted and is also included.
The customization of "The Duke" includes:
- Front and rear mags from a 2004 Triumph Trophy (refurbed to new) - have a wider rear wheel and tire now
- Brand new Bridgestones
- Custom paint (2015 Lexus pearl white) and artwork represented from Kansas City artist, unique Triumph decals
- Slip-ons from Dime City Cycles (louder)
- Engle Motors re-jetted the carbs after pipes installed
- Rear fender delete
- New brake light and turn signals
- New specialty rear rotor (shipped from UK) for the new wider rear wheel setup
- Stainless grips and side mirrors from Dime City Cycles
- Custom stainless gauge holders
- Triumph side rubber tank protectors from Engle motors
- Upgraded headlight
- Nology coils
It really is a beautiful and unique bike. It is at my house in downtown KC. It starts fine but could use a simple carb clean for best running performance. I simply haven't been driving it enough and it deserves that more.
