Bought this bike with two friends in 2007. It has essentially been a guest spare. One of the owners already had one of his own at his New York residence and since we often met in Seattle to go north or San Diego to go south he often flew in and I brought the XR in the van for him.

When we were traveling on the east coast he rode his own XR in the “medium” adventure travels. We all have lighter KTMs for dirt focus and almost no pavement as well as big KTMs for bigger miles and more pavement focus. The third guy lives here, just wanted in, and has never even seen the bike. This one has been to Cabo multiple times as well as Whitehorse, Deadhorse, Dawson and Yellowknife. It has Protaper bars and bar risers, a Rally Raid fairing for a little more wind protection (they are a little pricey but a nice addition and I can’t believe I don’t see more of them), Clarke tank (3.6 I think), fat pegs, what we think is the best minimalist rack setup available (we are all one medium duffle for thirty days guys, these both protect the bike and afford a good tie down facility) and the original tool kit (unused I think) and owner’s manual. The tires are TKCs. Front is good to go and the rear is about 50%. You will need one before heading for Cabo or the Yukon. I can help facilitate delivery most anywhere at your expense. I would not hesitate to load it for 2000 miles in Baja tomorrow. We just put about 500 on it in the Texas Hill Country last week. These remain the best bang for the buck in the adventure game available. I had two before this one. Wouldn’t say there won’t be another. This is not a motocross bike but is extremely versatile and capable as a daily commuter or world traveler.
